Chapter 263
Chapter 263:
“It’s a stroke of luck. Miss Morgan missed our meeting. No meeting, no extra work. I guess they’ll reschedule for tomorrow. But who cares about that now? We’ve got the night free, so let’s go celebrate!” Hamilton exclaimed.
“What? Miss Morgan didn’t show up for the meeting?” Waldo’s mood lifted instantly.
His plan must have worked. Perhaps Fernanda had been incapacitated, which was why she couldn’t attend the meeting.
“Yep. Not sure why. She had confirmed the meeting, but in the end, she didn’t show up. Those executives really don’t consider our time,” Hamilton said before swiftly changing the subject. “But let’s not let that dampen our evening. Waldo, how about we go all out and head to Zero Degree p>
“Zero Degree p>
Waldo was familiar with the venue. It was one of the most popular nightclubs in Esaham, buzzing with energy. However, its steep prices had always discouraged him. Given his current predicament, visiting such an expensive place seemed even more out of reach. Since being let go from Bright Lights Media, he had been unemployed. Between his monthly house payments, credit card bills, and today’s expenses for hiring those thugs, splurging at Zero Degree wasn’t viable.
Just as Waldo was about to politely decline, Hamilton quickly interjected, “Hey, don’t sweat it, it’s my treat tonight! The investment I made yesterday surged by four points. I’m feeling pretty great, so let’s make the most of tonight p>
With Hamilton covering the expenses, Waldo found no reason to say no. Relieved that his plan might have succeeded, Waldo felt a weight lift off his shoulders, buoying his mood. He happily agreed and planned to meet Hamilton at 9 p.m.
“Just so it’s clear, it’s just us tonight, okay? I’m not loaded,” Hamilton added jokingly. “It’s fine for me to treat you, but if too many join, I won’t be able to cover the cost p>
“Understood.” For the first time in a long time, Waldo allowed a genuine smile. “See you later then p>
After the call, Waldo headed for a shower. He chose his most expensive outfit from the wardrobe. He carefully applied skincare, shaved, and styled his hair with some setting spray. Before heading out, Waldo examined his reflection from all angles, pleased with his grooming.

At a high-end place like Zero Degree, most patrons were affluent and dressed to the nines. Waldo was intent on fitting in. Additionally, he half-hoped to catch the eye of a wealthy woman who might secure his future and free him from the need to work hard ever again.
Despite his disdain for women, whom he viewed as inferior, Waldo often daydreamed about securing a rich benefactress to elevate him to an effortless life of luxury.
On his way to Zero Degree, he was in such high spirits that he hummed to himself. During the drive, his phone rang with a call from the thugs he had hired.
“The job’s done. We need the rest of the payment now,” the voice said, sending Waldo several photos.
The images depicted Fernanda on the ground, bloodied and in a dire state. The sight of these images stirred a twisted sense of satisfaction within Waldo.
Fernanda had publicly embarrassed him at work, leading to his dismissal from a company where he had dedicated years, severing his main source of income. His animosity toward her was profound. Seeing Fernanda so grievously harmed gave Waldo a disturbing thrill.
