Chapter 611
Robert had been genuinely distressed today.
“Please reconsider,” Ector urged gently. “I’ll speak with Dad tomorrow. You really don’t have to do this…”
Fernanda simply shook her head, her expression resolute. “Save your breath. There’s no need to convince me.”
Ector was all too aware of Fernanda’s staunch independence. Once she decided on a course of action, it was nearly impossible to sway her. She had resolved to move out, signaling her undeniable desire to leave this place for good.
“So, have you secured a new place yet? I’m here to help if you need it,” Ector offered kindly.
“Not just yet. I’ll stay in the dormitory for the time being. There’s no rush; I’ll find something more permanent later on. Once everything’s in order, I’ll send you my new address,” she explained.
With a curious tilt of her head, Fernanda suddenly changed the subject. “Ector, how long have you been at Voligny Company now?”
“Just shy of two years,” Ector replied honestly.
Fernanda nodded thoughtfully. “That’s not a long time. Yet here you are, the general manager, while Robert sits as the chairman. Does this mean you need his approval for every decision?”
“Exactly,” Ector confirmed with a nod. “What brought this on?” he inquired, eyebrows raised.
With a playful smile, Fernanda voiced her thoughts. “It just seems like they’re not fully using your potential. You’re clearly more adept than Robert. I’d find it maddening to always seek approval from someone less skilled.”
Ector offered a soft smile in response. “It’s a family-run business, so the dynamics are a bit different. It’s not so much about wasted potential.”
Drawing out her next words with a knowing glint, Fernanda’s eyes sparkled with intrigue. “Then… if I told you to leave the company, would you go?”
When Fernanda returned to Esaham, one goal burned bright in her mind: taking back Voligny Company. The company, built from the ground up by Robert, had thrived only because of her mother’s unwavering support. Without her mother’s sacrifices, the company would never have existed.
Fernanda’s plan was clear—Robert would lose the company. But amidst her determination, one concern lingered: she didn’t want Ector to suffer because of it.
If anything happened to the company, Ector, as the manager, would inevitably bear the brunt of the fallout.
In the entire Morgan family, Ector was the only one she cared enough to protect.
“Ector, you don’t need to worry. You’re destined for greatness with your skills and integrity, no matter what happens,” Fernanda said softly, her gaze gentle as she spoke to him.
Ector blinked, slightly taken aback. He intended to reassure Fernanda, yet here she was, offering him comfort instead. Still, he nodded and said, “Thanks for your kind words.”
“I’m heading to bed. Make sure you get some rest too,” she added.
“Okay,” he replied quietly.
