Chapter 306
Chapter 306:
Remaining calm, his smile unchanged, Jeff didn’t even seem to notice Bobby’s simmering hostility.
“Just a little further, and we’ll reach the spot where we can camp,” Jeff said. “We’re almost there, and the view from the top is incredible p>
Wendy nodded, her determination clear. “Alright, let’s keep going p>
Bobby shot Wendy a resentful glance, his voice reluctant as he asked, “How much farther to the top p>
Jeff smiled easily. “An hour and a half should be enough p>
“What?” Bobby exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. Did he just hear Jeff right? The stairs were behind them now, and ahead was just a rough mountain trail, much harder to walk on.
“Come on, let’s push on. We’ll get a good rest when we get there,” Jeff urged.
Wendy didn’t say anything, just started walking, with Bonita and Sloane following. Fernanda shot Bobby a sympathetic glance, but there was nothing she could do to help.
Bobby felt a lump in his throat, the urge to cry building up. He regretted it all. He shouldn’t have come here in the first place.
Maybe he should’ve just taken the cable car from the start. If he had, this last stretch wouldn’t have been so torturous. A deep sense of hopelessness washed over him.
The next hour and a half would be the hardest he’d endured all year.
By the time they reached the top, Bobby didn’t care about his appearance and just collapsed onto the ground.
The sky was clear and bright, the air gentle with a soft breeze. Lying there, Bobby could feel his muscles finally relax, as though he’d come back to life.
He closed his eyes, letting the mountain breeze tousle his hair and dry the sweat on his body. It felt like the perfect moment, the best part of the whole trip.
The mountaintop was vast and grassy, much quieter than the busy middle section, with far fewer people around.

After catching his breath, Bobby finally found the energy to complain. “Is this it? There’s nothing to do here on this empty mountaintop. Are we just staying here all day p>
“The sunrise and sunset here are incredible,” Jeff said calmly.
Bobby opened his mouth to complain about how dull the view was, but when he saw Wendy’s bright, excited eyes, he decided to hold his tongue.
“So where are we sleeping tonight? What are we eating? Are we just supposed to starve up here?” Bobby continued to grumble.
After last night’s events, he couldn’t shake the feeling that Jeff wasn’t being a great host, and now everything seemed to annoy him.
He had expected there to be at least a hotel or something on the mountaintop, but there was nothing.
Jeff, still smiling softly, ignored Bobby’s bad attitude. “Don’t worry. Someone will bring food and supplies soon. Everything will be fine p>
“I don’t mind roughing it, as long as the girls don’t have to suffer,” Bobby muttered.
Around two hours later, a group arrived with the supplies.
