Chapter 237
Chapter 237:
Now he realized he had been mistaken.
He was right to trust her; she truly deserved his love and respect.
“It’s lucky that we both didn’t lose our way and have left those unpleasant pasts behind us p>
Fernanda squinted and looked toward the distant overpass, where the headlights of cars stretched into a long, luminous line against the dark.
“I now understand something you once told me,” she whispered. “You said that neither of us is really a good person p>
She acknowledged to herself that she wasn’t inherently good. She had returned to the Morgan family with a scheme in mind. She wanted to disrupt the family dynamics, to get back at her father who had abandoned her, and her insincere stepmother.
And Cristian? Did he have similar motivations? According to what Bobby had shared, Cristian also faced neglect and unfair treatment at home during his childhood.

With that thought, his mood lifted even more.
Time seemed to fly whenever he was with Fernanda, and before they knew it, it was already past ten in the evening.
“Let me take you home,” Cristian said. “It’s getting late p>
Fernanda nodded, her agreement soft but clear. “Sure p>
When they reached the Morgan villa, Cristian stayed in the car, rolling down the window. “Remember what I said,” he reminded her. “If you ever need anything, just reach out. Don’t handle it all on your own p>
