Chapter 397
Chapter 397:
It didn’t matter. If she wasn’t ready to admit it now, he was certain that, given time, he would make her acknowledge it willingly.
Cristian was filled with confidence, and along with it came a sense of assurance. He ignited the engine and pulled away, a wave of satisfaction washing over him. Meanwhile, as Fernanda made her way back to her dorm, her thoughts were a mess.
Her mind was a blur, filled with countless fragments that flickered through her thoughts like broken rays of light. Although today’s events seemed minor, somehow they were pushing her beyond her comfort zone. She decided to return and organize her thoughts.
Her pace quickened, her footsteps light yet rapid. Suddenly, a figure emerged before her, causing her to startle. Fernanda quickly took two steps back, her eyes cautiously watching the person who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
“Miss Morgan, there’s no need to be nervous. It’s me,” the voice said with a faint smile, low and husky.
The face before her was strikingly beautiful and captivating, its charm unaffected by the dim evening light. It was Haley.
Fernanda quickly placed a hand to her chest, shocked by the sudden appearance, while Haley offered a small, apologetic smile. “Miss Morgan, I didn’t mean to scare you,” she said gently.

Fernanda couldn’t shake the feeling that Haley had another motive for being here—one that likely had nothing to do with Bobby.
With Haley saying nothing more, Fernanda chose to play along, acting as if she had no idea what was really going on.
“Thanks for letting me know,” Fernanda said. “It’s getting late, and I have an early class tomorrow, so I think I’ll head back to my dorm now.” She moved past Haley and headed toward the dorm building.
The sharp click of high heels echoed behind her as Haley kept pace.
“I feel like we really connect, even though we’ve only met once,” Haley said with a smile. “I don’t have anything else to do, so why don’t we walk together p>
