Chapter 668
As the clock inched closer to 1 PM, more shareholders trickled in, Hunk among them. A broad smile graced his face, signaling his good mood. Fernanda…
Fernanda remembered that Cristian had submitted a highly profitable project to the Ross Group the previous year.
Seated at the front, Hunk appeared ready to kick off the meeting. Just as the meeting seemed about to begin, the door swung open once more.
Fernanda, twisting open a bottle of water, froze in surprise at the figure who entered.
The newcomer entered with an air of refined elegance, his suit sharp, radiating authority and prestige.
It wasn’t until Fernanda noticed the nameplate on the seat next to her that she saw the name: “Cristian Reed.”
How had he become a shareholder of the Ross Group?
By the arrangement of the seats, it was clear that their shares were likely of equal value.
With a calm demeanor, Cristian made his way to the seat beside Fernanda and settled into it.
Leaning toward him, Fernanda couldn’t hide her curiosity. “What are you doing here?”
Cristian smiled. “Of course, I’m here for the shareholders’ meeting.”
“When did you even become a shareholder of the Ross Group?”
“Just last week,” Cristian replied with a nonchalant shrug.
Fernanda blinked, taken aback. “Well, that was a surprise.”
“Didn’t see that coming, did you?” Cristian grinned. “I acquired one percent of the Ross Group shares just to sit next to you.”
Fernanda let out a small laugh. “You’re telling me you bought in just to sit next to me at a meeting? Seriously?”
“Yeah,” Cristian said, sighing dramatically as he leaned in closer. His voice dropped to a low murmur, full of unspoken meaning. “I can’t bear to be apart from you for a single moment.” He flashed her a sly smile. “Looks like I’ll have to work behind the scenes, finding ways to get closer to you.”
Fernanda leaned back in her chair, a mischievous smile playing on her lips as she eyed Cristian. “Cut the sweet talk. Just come out and say you’re eyeing a piece of Hunk’s company. How is it that your real aim is to charm your way closer to me?”
Cristian’s expression remained composed, not a trace of offense on his face. He grinned, his confidence intact. “I haven’t been dishonest with you. Hunk did seek me out as an investor previously. I declined at that time. But now, my interest in becoming a shareholder? It’s truly because of you.”
As Cristian finished his revelation, Hunk approached with a warm presence.
“Hello, Mr. Reed,” Hunk greeted, extending a friendly hand. “Fancy seeing you here.”
“Hello, Mr. Ross,” Cristian replied, his smile mirroring Hunk’s. “The meeting’s about to kick off, right?”
“Yeah,” Hunk replied, his eyes twinkling. “May I tempt you with a coffee chat after the meeting?”
