Chapter 345
Chapter 345:
Erika held herself in high esteem, convinced that only extraordinary men deserved a place in her life.
So, when she reached out to him, Mayson was taken aback, yet thoroughly pleased.
She even invited him to a café, saying she wanted to treat him to a coffee.
When Mayson showed up, he was wearing a neat, casual outfit that gave him a charming, approachable look.
But in Erika’s eyes, he was just an ordinary college student with nothing special about him.
His family wasn’t especially wealthy, and Erika was used to associating with people from affluent backgrounds.
So, she stayed indifferent, masking her lack of interest with politeness, mainly because she had a business matter to discuss.
After a few casual words, Erika cut straight to the chase.
She saw it as a win-win for both families, even though she was the one asking for a favor. It wasn’t something that would put Mayson’s family at a disadvantage, so she felt no shame at all.
Mayson listened without protest, nodding as he said, “I’ll talk it over with my family when I get home. It’s a solid idea, and I’m sure they’ll go for it p>
“Don’t forget to mention it’s a collaboration with our company, Voligny,” Erika reminded him. “There are so many cosmetic brands, and if you buy from someone else, all my work will be for nothing p>
Mayson reassured her, saying, “I’ll make that clear, don’t worry. But I can’t promise my parents will be on board p>
Erika frowned, a note of disdain creeping into her voice. “What? Is your role in the family really that weak? Won’t they back you up p>
Realizing Erika had misunderstood, Mayson quickly corrected her. “No, no, it’s not that. I’m still a student, focused on my studies. I don’t usually get involved in the family business, so my opinion might not carry much weight with them. But don’t worry, I’ll talk to my brother first. If he agrees, it’s pretty much a done deal p>
Erika finally exhaled, feeling relieved. “Alright. I’ll wait to hear the good news then p>
Mayson nodded, his smile wide and infectious, his teeth bright and perfectly aligned, giving off an aura of cheerfulness and optimism.
Erika felt a rush of excitement and happiness building within her.
She was already picturing how her father would react once this was all set in motion.
He would definitely praise her nonstop, and at last, she’d have the opportunity to show everyone—especially Fernanda—that she wasn’t good for nothing. She had real skills, and she was more than capable of handling things on her own. She couldn’t help but imagine how awkward and embarrassed Fernanda would look in that moment.
Just the thought of it brought a wave of satisfaction that warmed Erika from the inside out.
The heaviness that had weighed on her heart for days was suddenly gone, replaced by a burst of energy.
She could hardly wait any longer.
