Chapter 630
Resolved to prove his worth, Kevin was intent on demonstrating that his gaming abilities remained formidable, despite his previous defeat against her in a direct matchup.
Restless throughout the night, Kevin hardly slept, yet he didn’t feel tired at all.
At breakfast the following morning, Kevin encountered Robert’s ongoing complaints about Fernanda, which made him exceedingly uncomfortable.
He sharply set his spoon down, glaring at his father. “Dad, let it go. Why must you keep bringing this up?”
Robert stared back, puzzled.
“What’s wrong with her making her own choices about her engagement?” Kevin retorted sharply.
With that, he pushed his spoon away and stood up abruptly. “I’m finished here.”
Day after day, Robert’s constant complaints had become unbearable for Kevin.
No amount of repetition would change the past.
Agitated, Kevin left his breakfast untouched and opted for a sandwich from a nearby convenience store, consuming it as he rode a taxi to the event.
Upon arriving, he spotted Fernanda.
Though tempted to approach her, he restrained himself, merely watching her from afar.
Unaware of his presence, Fernanda did not even look his way.
That was, until it was time for their teams to compete.
As they were called to the stage, the host announced, “Now presenting, Esaham High School’s ‘Invincible Overlords’ versus Esaham University’s ‘World Elite.’”
Fernanda almost sputtered at the mention of the latter team’s name. While Kevin’s team name was arrogant enough, “World Elite” took it to a whole new level of embarrassment.
It was downright astonishing.
As Fernanda looked over the complete roster of team names later, she found each one more peculiar than the last.
The creativity of the younger generation was astounding.
The tournament kicked off swiftly, and the turnout was impressive. Following the announcement that “True Champion” would be participating, spectator numbers skyrocketed overnight. Sitting in the front row, Bonita eagerly waved her sign for Neal. This was a thrilling first for her—watching Neal compete live—and the vibrant crowd only heightened her enthusiasm.
The venue buzzed with excitement, primarily from spectators eager to catch a glimpse of Neal.
“That’s him; that’s True Champion,” a voice behind Bonita murmured.
“He’s actually quite handsome!”
“Yes,” her friend replied. “He’s more attractive than I thought, a real gamer heartthrob! Just look at him lounging there, seemingly just out of bed, yet his gaming is intense.”
“His laid-back vibe is really appealing! And his hands are so attractive; I just adore watching them play!”
