Chapter 111
Chapter 111:
Overwhelmed with a surge of gratitude, Fernanda felt a compelling urge to seek out Mr. Bernard, to express her thanks and somehow reciprocate his generosity.
And as for the quiet boy, she found herself pondering his fate, wondering what paths he had taken in the winding journey of life.
Leon gently called Fernanda’s name a couple of times, pulling her from her thoughts.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern. Fernanda had been lost in thought for a while, and the sadness on her face immediately caught his eye.
“I’m fine,” she said, offering a faint smile.
“The person I need you to help me find is someone from years ago,” she explained. “I’ll draw a picture of them when I get back.” She paused, then added with a small shrug, “It would be great if you could track them down, but if not, don’t stress about it too much, Leon p>
Leon nodded. “Okay, I’ll do my best to track them down p>
As Fernanda left Zero Degree, the wind began to pick up, and before long, the rain started pouring down in sheets.
She watched as the raindrops splashed into tiny puddles on the pavement, and a memory suddenly surfaced—the day Mr. Bernard and the boy had left, with the rain falling just as heavily.
Every time she found herself thinking about the past, it felt as though everything had come full circle, like she was stuck in a cycle she couldn’t escape.
They had come into her life so unexpectedly, shaken her world in ways she couldn’t have imagined, and then, just as abruptly, disappeared—leaving her unprepared for the void they left behind.
The rain poured harder, and the cold seemed to seep right through her thin clothes. She sneezed, feeling the chill sink into her bones.
In her foggy state, she saw a figure walk by. The person was tall and lean, and the umbrella hid most of his face, revealing only a strong jawline.

Fernanda froze for a moment, then quickly shook herself out of her daze. She rushed forward and grabbed the man’s arm.
As the umbrella was lifted, a face she didn’t recognize came into view.
“Sorry, I must’ve mistaken you for someone else,” she quickly apologized.
Even though she had never truly seen what the boy looked like, she was sure this wasn’t him.
They were nothing alike.
The man didn’t seem bothered by the mix-up. He just gave a small smile before continuing on his way.
Fernanda stood there in the pouring rain, completely soaked. She lowered her head, letting out a soft, almost rueful laugh at her own foolishness.
How could there be such a coincidence? As soon as she thought of the boy, he appeared?
