Chapter 296
Chapter 296:
Bobby, his eyes blazing with fury, landed one final punch before letting Rafael go.
He wiped his face and delivered a few angry kicks to the bloodied Rafael, his rage still simmering.
“You brought this on yourself,” Bobby sneered, pointing at Rafael’s mangled face. “You’re such a disgrace p>
The implication of his words hung unspoken in the air—no decent man would stoop so low as to use such vile tactics against a woman!
Earlier, Fernanda had played a recording on her phone. Wendy, chatting with Bobby at the time, had pressed the voice message button and sent it to him.
Hearing Rafael’s venomous words had almost sent Bobby into a blind rage. He had been on his way to the villa already, but after that, he put his foot to the floor and drove like a man possessed.
After the prolonged battle, Bobby was panting heavily, his breath coming in sharp bursts.
Fernanda guided him to a sofa, gently inspecting his bruised and swollen knuckles—a testament to the force of his fury.
“It’s nothing major. Everyone can go back to bed,” Jeff said, waving off the crowd that had gathered.
The sight of Rafael’s battered face told a very different story, but the onlookers, sensing it wasn’t their business, dispersed without pressing for details. Jeff called over two close friends and asked them to take Rafael to the hospital.
The men nodded, understanding the weight of the situation. “Don’t worry, Jeff. We’ll let you know how he’s doing once we get there,” one of them assured him.
Jeff thanked them with a weary nod.
Once Rafael was out of sight, Jeff sank into the sofa with a heavy sigh.
“What brings you here, Bobby?” Jeff asked, attempting a polite tone.

Bobby, his temper still simmering, shot Jeff a cold glare. “If I hadn’t come, what would’ve happened to my friend, thanks to your so-called pals? If I don’t stand up for her, who will?” Though Bobby used the word “friend,” everyone knew the truth about his relationship with Fernanda.
His fiancée had nearly been harmed, and his outrage was more than justified.
Bobby wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries with Jeff.
The two men had no history, but Bobby hadn’t forgotten seeing Jeff hanging around Fernanda on campus.
It had grated on him, planting the seed of mistrust.
“I can’t argue with you. We should’ve been more careful,” Jeff admitted, his voice laced with frost.
The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place for him now.
A few days ago, a friend had suggested they spend the weekend at this villa and even encouraged Jeff to invite Sloane and her friends to liven things up.
In hindsight, it was clear that friend had been acting on Rafael’s orders. Sloane’s university circle included Fernanda and her group, and Rafael must have banked on Sloane extending an invitation to them.
