Chapter 303
Chapter 303:
Pulling out his phone, he snapped a quick photo of their retreating figures and sent it to Cristian.
“Look at this! A new admirer for Fernanda!” Bobby typed.
For a time, he had assumed Ector was Fernanda’s boyfriend. But once he learned the truth—that Ector was her brother—he’d quickly dropped that theory. This time, though, Bobby was certain he wasn’t mistaken. Jeff couldn’t possibly be her brother too.
Men, Bobby thought with conviction, could always see through each other’s intentions. And he’d bet every coin in his pocket that Jeff was trying to win Fernanda over.
“Have you decided what to do about last night?” Jeff’s voice was soft as he spoke to Fernanda.
“What are you trying to say?” she asked.
Was he subtly trying to convince her to let the matter slide?
“Just a heads-up,” Jeff replied. “If you’re planning to go hard on Rafael, be ready. His family won’t take it lying down p>
Fernanda tilted her head slightly, her gaze sharpening. “So you saw my message p>
Unbothered by her pointed question, Jeff shrugged. “I didn’t mean to snoop. I just caught a glimpse while you were sending an audio clip. I assumed it was the recording you made of Rafael’s schemes p>
He wasn’t wrong. Fernanda had indeed forwarded the audio to Rosita, instructing her to craft an article that would spotlight Rafael’s actions from the night before.
It was only by turning the matter into a spectacle that Rafael would grasp the gravity of the situation and realize Fernanda was not someone to be underestimated.
“Thanks for the warning,” she said with a faint smile. “But I know what I’m doing p>
“If you need backup, let me know. I’ll help however I can,” Jeff offered.
Fernanda arched an eyebrow. “Oh? Rafael is your friend, and you’re not siding with him p>

Jeff shook his head, his expression resolute. “Now that he did that in my villa, it’s clear he no longer values our friendship. As a result, we’re no longer friends p>
Jeff held firm principles when it came to managing relationships. Given his family status and influence in school, he had a wide network of acquaintances and numerous friends. Losing Rafael as one of them barely scratched the surface of his world.
“And I still feel genuinely sorry for you,” Jeff said, his voice tinged with sincerity as he gazed earnestly at Fernanda.
Fernanda picked up on the guilt and regret etched in his tone. Shaking her head with a nonchalant smile, she replied, “I told you last night, it’s not your fault. Neither you nor Sloane needs to carry this burden. Besides, look at me—I’m perfectly fine now, aren’t I p>
She was right. She appeared fine. Yet Jeff couldn’t even begin to fathom the disastrous ripple effects if things had gone differently.
At Bright Lights Media, Rosita sat in her office, her thoughts a storm ever since Fernanda’s message had come through.
Ordinarily, publishing a juicy, scandal-laden story would’ve been second nature to her. But this time, hesitation held her back.
