Chapter 286
Chapter 286:
Sloane was busy greeting guests, working alongside Jeff, who was quite well-known and had many friends.
However, Sloane hadn’t extended an invitation to her former schoolmates. She wanted to focus on spending time with Fernanda and her friends, unsure of how she’d manage if her old schoolmates were there too.
After a while, Sloane finished greeting everyone and returned with a large tray. She set it down carefully on the coffee table.
“Bonita, are you watching a live stream?” Sloane asked, noticing the screen on Bonita’s phone.
Bonita blushed, a hint of embarrassment spreading across her face. She gave a small nod, pressing her lips together.
Sloane had only asked out of curiosity but quickly shifted the topic. “I brought you some food. Our chefs are experts in desserts. They’re known for their amazing flavors. You should definitely give them a try p>
The tray held a selection of macaroons, cream puffs, and tatinall, each one looking incredibly tempting.
“I’m actually getting a little hungry,” Wendy admitted, reaching for a macaroon and quickly biting into it.
The rich chocolate filled her mouth, offering a sweet and satisfying flavor.
Wendy nodded enthusiastically and gave a thumbs-up. “This is really good p>
Sloane chuckled, then sat down to join them, helping herself to some treats. Across the room, a buffet table was set up, stacked with an assortment of pastries and a wide range of drinks, creating an indulgent display.
“This feels like a fancy five-star hotel buffet,” Wendy remarked with a smile.
Sloane chuckled. “With so many people here, it’s tough to satisfy everyone’s preferences. But this way, you can pick whatever you want. Besides, tomorrow’s hike and camping trip is the main event. Let’s keep things simple with a light meal today p>
They had originally planned for a barbecue in the garden, but the weather had other ideas. A drizzle began falling in the mountains, ruining their outdoor plans.
“Let’s just hope the rain stops by morning, or our plans might be in trouble,” Sloane said with a frown. “It’d be such a disappointment if the hike is ruined p>
The forecast had promised sunshine, but the sudden rain dampened their excitement.
Once they finished eating, Sloane was about to ask Fernanda if she wanted to play some games when a young man walked up to them, suggesting they join a board game.
Bonita was fully immersed in her live stream, while Wendy showed no interest, and Fernanda was even less engaged.
Board games are best shared with close friends, where laughter flows and bonds grow stronger.
They politely turned down the invitation, and the young man left, looking a bit let down.
The hall buzzed with energy, everyone caught up in the moment.
Some gathered around the board games, others dived into animated discussions on a wide range of topics, while a few were singing and dancing, all lost in the joy of the evening.
