Just then, the steaks were served, and the table quieted down as everyone started to eat.
The steak was delicious, yet Fernanda found herself comparing it to a meal Cristian had once treated her to at a renowned restaurant.
This comparison inadvertently brought Cristian back to her mind.
It had been more than a week since they last spoke. She wondered if he had been too busy to call or if something else was keeping him away.
“By the way, Gifford, how’s your tutoring job going?” Levi suddenly shifted the conversation.
All eyes at the table turned towards Gifford.
After a month of school, they had all grown quite familiar with each other. Fernanda and Sloane had come to realize that Gifford was the most aloof and quietest of the group. It was surprising that someone so reserved would even take on a tutoring job. It was quite unexpected.
