Chapter 252
Chapter 252:
After Neal’s decision, Jeff said little else. He turned the ignition and headed to a department store to purchase a basic folding spring bed.
“Now I see the value in being academically strong,” Neal said, leaning back and exhaling a long sigh. “Had I passed Esaham University’s entrance like Fernanda, I could be in a luxurious two-person dorm with a queen-size bed right now, without the hassle of bunk beds p>
Levi and Alex, sitting next to him, felt a pang of frustration hearing this.
Indeed, making comparisons could drive one mad. Getting into Esaham University was an achievement on its own, but next to Fernanda, they felt like newbies.
Once they reached the school, Jeff dropped off Neal and the others before turning to take Fernanda back.
“You don’t need to take me back. I can make it on my own,” Fernanda said. “Besides, my dorm building is just a two-minute walk from here p>
“Actually, I was planning to visit Sloane. Mind if I join you for the walk?” Jeff asked, smiling.
“Of course not,” Fernanda chuckled.
Jeff parked the car, and they both headed toward the western part of the campus.
It was a bright late morning, the sun casting its warm glow everywhere. As students streamed out of their dorms headed for class, Fernanda and Jeff made their way through the crowd in the opposite direction.
Jeff’s tall, handsome figure paired with Fernanda’s slender elegance made them quite noticeable.
Jeff, known for his role as the student council president, was a familiar face to many. Fernanda had left a strong impression during orientation day, so she too was quickly recognized. Their joint appearance caused quite a stir, leading to whispered guesses and rumors among the students.
While walking, Jeff suddenly reached out, grabbing Fernanda’s arm and yanking her aside forcefully.
Fernanda stumbled into him, catching the light scent of his woody cologne.

Just then, a bicycle whizzed by, narrowly missing Fernanda.
“Careful,” Jeff said, looking down at her concernedly. “You weren’t hit, were you p>
“No,” Fernanda replied, shaking her head as she took a step back to regain her personal space. “Thank you p>
Jeff kept his calm smile and spoke with a warm tone. “I had to quickly pull you aside earlier. The bicycle was moving at such a high speed. Getting hit by it is no small matter. I wouldn’t want you to end up hospitalized right after Neal just got out p>
His tone was light and teasing, drawing a soft laugh from Fernanda. They stood a step apart, bathed in the sunlight that highlighted their complementary features, a striking couple by any standard.
Those passing by enjoyed the charming view.
Suddenly, someone stepped between them, blocking their view of each other.
Fernanda was startled to see that it was Bobby.
