Chapter 369
Chapter 369:
Side by side with Cristian, Fernanda entered Zero Degree and followed Leon into the elevator. As the smooth metallic walls of the elevator reflected her image, Fernanda saw herself standing tall and composed, her posture flawless.
Cristian, ever the observer, glanced sideways at her. Her face was composed, but there was a subtle tension in her hands as they fidgeted with the hem of her clothes.
“Feeling nervous?” Cristian asked, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
“No, not at all,” Fernanda replied quickly, her voice firm. “Why would I be nervous p>
Cristian stepped a little closer, his presence impossibly close as he stood beside her. Fernanda stayed still, though she noticed through the reflection that Cristian leaned just slightly in her direction.
“It’s okay to feel nervous,” he said, his tone light. “Meeting my mother for the first time puts you on edge, right? Are you afraid she might figure out that I have feelings for you p>
Fernanda shot him a sharp, almost startled glance. “Come on, you’re imagining things p>
“But you are really nervous,” Cristian teased, his smile widening.
Fernanda’s voice picked up a defensive edge. “I’m just here to handle my brother’s situation! Your mother came out of nowhere, and now I’ve got to figure out how to deal with it. Don’t get any funny ideas!” She rapidly fired off her rebuttal.
Her upset demeanor was like that of a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Cristian felt a sudden urge to smooth her hair, to calm the fire he had just stoked. But he held back.
“Why are you so worked up?” Cristian chuckled, amusement lighting up his eyes. “Are you really worried that my mother might find out there’s something going on between us p>
Fernanda’s eyes widened in disbelief. “There is nothing going on between us, okay? Don’t be ridiculous p>
“Alright, alright, I’m just messing with you,” Cristian said, his grin playful.
The elevator stopped, and Fernanda shot Cristian a glare before stepping out. But he caught her wrist, pulling her back into the elevator, spinning her around, and wrapping an arm around her waist.

Fernanda opened her mouth to question him, but before she could, Cristian raised his hand, gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. His fingers were cool against her skin as they traced her cheek and the curve of her ear.
Fernanda’s breath hitched, but before she could react further, he released her.
“All set now,” he said, his smile seeming to hide something more.
For some reason, Fernanda felt her cheeks flush. She didn’t speak, quickly stepping out of the elevator.
This was the top floor, typically reserved for VIPs, so the quiet was almost oppressive.
A door at the far end of the hall stood open, and Fernanda could hear faint voices coming from inside. Though not loud, the conversation was clear in the stillness.
Cristian moved forward, gently knocking on the open door.
The woman sitting on the sofa turned, and upon seeing Cristian, her face lit up with a bright smile. “Cristian, you’re here p>
