Chapter 662
“Let’s head to my place after we eat,” Cristian suggested. “There’s something interesting I’d like to show you.”
Agreeing with a nod, Fernanda responded, “Sure.”
Once they were back in Cristian’s car post-lunch, Fernanda pulled up the financial news on her phone.
Lately, her focus had been on growing Bright Lights Media and tracking its rivals in the entertainment sector, which led her to overlook financial updates.
As she scrolled through the financial headlines, she learned about major shifts at Cristian’s company, Vertex Investments. The company had not only expanded by acquiring other businesses but had also restructured its internal shareholder dynamics.
Fernanda understood that reshuffling a large corporation’s shareholder structure was no simple feat, affecting multiple facets of business operations, which shed light on Cristian’s recent preoccupations.
“Seems like you’re reorganizing things at your company?” Fernanda queried.
With a composed smile that softened his usually intense gaze, Cristian looked both elegant and approachable.
“Yes, you could put it that way. I’ve had to remove some of the old guard left by the previous leadership—they were holding me back. Now, it’s going to be smoother to make decisions.”
“I can imagine that was challenging,” Fernanda said. “Clearing the deck isn’t simple, but it must be relieving to have it behind you. I know I wouldn’t want anyone second-guessing my decisions; it’s really frustrating.”
“That’s the truth. It’s best to handle such matters decisively,” Cristian said.
He generally avoided burdening Fernanda with the more taxing details of his challenges, preferring to keep their exchanges light and positive, reflecting her own strength and positivity.
“By the way, do you remember Julio?” Cristian changed the subject.
“Ah, yes,” Fernanda replied.
“He’s coming to Esaham soon,” Cristian said. “He’s also entered the competition there, just like the one in Litdence where he performed quite impressively. It’s possible he’ll be competing against you.”
“Is that so?” Fernanda responded with a serene smile. “Well, if it comes to that, we’ll just have to compete. My friends and I are ready for it.”
With a playful glance, Fernanda teased Cristian, “You’re not suggesting I should take it easy on him, are you?”
With an amused lift of his eyebrows and a shrug, Cristian replied, “Of course not. I’m here to support you fully. If it turns out you outperform him, I’ll be the first to cheer for you.”
For Cristian, his family didn’t hold the same significance as Fernanda did to him.
Upon reaching his apartment, Cristian handed Fernanda a glass of water before retrieving a box from his study.
Curious, Fernanda opened the box and discovered a collection of old newspapers.
