Chapter 313
Chapter 313:
Once the boy was safely in his grandmother’s arms, he immediately stopped crying. With a smug grin, he stuck his tongue out at Sloane over the woman’s shoulder.
Sloane’s temper flared.
Bonita quickly inspected Fernanda’s hand. Thankfully, there was no broken skin, just a red mark.
“Thank goodness it didn’t break the skin,” Bobby commented.
Fernanda casually waved her hand. “It’s nothing. It’ll go away soon p>
“Bastard, today’s been a real eye-opener,” Bobby muttered under his breath. “How can a kid be this rotten? Such a cute face, wasted p>
The others were silent, not knowing what to say.
“I swear, I’m never bothering with kids again,” Bobby grumbled, still fuming. “I saw him running over, thought I’d offer him a snack, and this is the thanks I get for being nice p>
Fernanda said gently, trying to calm him down, “That boy is just an exception—most kids are still sweet and innocent p>
Bobby gave a pout but kept quiet after that.
Sloane and the others had lost all interest in the card game, so they moved outside the tent to sit.
Jeff went to grab some iodine and cotton swabs to clean Fernanda’s hand. “Yeah, it’s a good idea to clean it. Who knows where that little monster’s mouth has been?” Sloane said, still irritated.
A few dozen meters away, a tent for the boy and his family had been set up, indicating that he would be staying the night as well.
“He’s just a spoiled kid. Don’t let him spoil the fun. Let’s play cards,” Fernanda said, flashing a grin.
Eager to move past the awkward moment, they grabbed the cards and started a game.
Before long, evening had crept in, and the sun began to dip. The sky blazed with shades of red, while the sun, a rich orange-red, slowly disappeared behind a blanket of soft clouds.
The warm glow from the setting sun washed over everything, casting a gentle, almost enchanting light on their faces.
“This is the perfect moment for pictures,” Sloane said, quickly pulling out her camera. “Let me take some shots p>
The silhouettes framed by the setting sun were truly captivating. With the fiery red sky casting its glow, the shapes of the people stood out sharply, seamlessly blending with the radiant background.
Jeff couldn’t help but be amazed by Fernanda’s profile through the camera. It was smooth, delicate, and utterly breathtaking. She was naturally beautiful, but the sunset’s glow made her even more striking. Even without zooming in on her face, the mere outline of her was enough to captivate anyone.
As the sun disappeared, the temperature dropped quickly, and everyone huddled in their warm coats.
“It’s only evening, so why is it this cold?” Bobby complained, his face flushed from the biting wind. “Alright, I’m heading back to the tent to grab something to eat and warm up p>
