Chapter 622
Though the gathering was modest, the room buzzed with reporters. Fernanda sat poised on stage, effortlessly handling the barrage of questions.
The press was particularly curious about her recent breakup with Bobby. She answered with simple clarity: there was no love left. When the topic shifted to the Morgan family, Fernanda’s silence became her most eloquent response, conveying more than words ever could. Reporters interpreted her silence as filled with hidden messages, suggesting her disappointment with the Morgans and a resigned attitude.
Fernanda didn’t break down or point fingers at Robert, nor did she cast herself as the victim. She simply shared her hope for more kindness moving forward and her intent not to stir up trouble for anyone. Her press conference was characterized by grace and magnanimity, starkly contrasting with Robert’s small-mindedness.
“Damn it!” Robert bellowed at his TV, his temper so fiery he nearly hurled the remote at the screen. “She’s just putting on an act! No way she means any of that!”
From the outset, Fernanda had navigated the situation masterfully, sharing just enough and keeping her peace, which won her both sympathy and admiration.
As criticism mounted against Robert, public support for Fernanda soared.
Wrapping up the press conference, Fernanda spoke gently to the cameras.
“I can’t fathom why my father is so bitter toward me now. He adored my mother, and I am born of their love. Even if he can’t find it in his heart to love me, despising me makes no sense. I’m at a loss.”
Her words prompted the reporters to dig deeper, now intrigued by Robert’s romantic entanglements.
Post-conference, Fernanda steered clear of Bright Lights Media and skipped their celebratory bash.
She had bigger fish to fry.
With the college league kicking off in three days, she was busy prepping with Neal.
The college league was set to commence on February 27, and Clement, along with his companions, arrived in Esaham two days earlier, on February 25.
Fernanda and Cristian were there to greet them upon their arrival. Lately, Cristian’s schedule had been packed, leaving little opportunity for him and Fernanda to spend time together. Despite the disturbances, she had urged him to steer clear, a request he honored.
Yet, on Valentine’s Day, he had cleared his calendar, dedicating the entire day to Fernanda.
Originally, Cristian had planned a day out for some fun, but considering Fernanda’s preference for laying low due to the recent buzz surrounding her, they opted to stay indoors and indulged in a marathon of talk shows instead.
This was a new experience for Cristian, and surprisingly, he enjoyed it. Now, whenever Fernanda was in the car, the usual classical piano tunes were replaced by the lively banter of talk show hosts.
Such a change was unexpected.
After Clement got into Cristian’s car, he was stunned.
While he recognized the luxury of the car he occupied, he was unfamiliar with the specific model. He had seen the brand online and vaguely remembered that its price tag was outrageously exorbitant. In such a luxurious setting, he felt like he should be sipping champagne instead of lounging and laughing along with the radio.
