Chapter 70
Chapter 70:
Ava went to her bedroom. As soon as she closed the door, she threw her bag and high heels aside, then slid down the door.
As pain began to settle in, she reached up and touched her chest. Her eyes remained fixed on the floor as she quietly shed a tear. Her mind kept returning to the moment when Ian grabbed her neck and humiliated her.
He made fun of her. He reminded her of how ridiculous she had been, once falling for him. He proved that her wolf was laughable, constantly howling for him whenever he got close.
Ava stayed like that all night. As the sun rose, a ray of sunlight filtered through the window, landing softly on her face.
She closed her eyes and muttered under her breath, “You left nothing inside me, Ian p>
Ava felt really sick. The last two days had been like hell for her.
The scratches on her back caused her constant pain, and she didn’t know where to go for help. The Epsilon Wolf had told her that no one could assist her. She could only wait for her wolf to return fully to her.
She missed her wolf. She longed to shift into her wolf form and run freely through the forest. She missed her old life.
She hadn’t gone to university for the past two days. Her friends were concerned about her health. She told them she was feeling a little sick, which was why she couldn’t attend.
Though she had confided everything to Debra the day after the party, she made them promise not to mention it to anyone, especially Luke. Ava knew Luke cared deeply for her, and she didn’t want him to go to Ian and fight for her again. She didn’t want that incident repeating itself.
Today, Ava received a call from Stephen. He invited her and her mother to dinner with him and his father, as they had planned at the party. Ava agreed to go for her mother’s sake, even though she still wasn’t feeling well.
Stephen kept apologizing for whatever Ian had said or done to her. Ava reassured him that it wasn’t his fault, but he insisted it was his responsibility to take care of her. She thought Stephen was a kind-hearted man.
In the evening, Ava dressed in one of the dresses Stephen had bought for her. He had sent the dresses and shoes to her house via a butler the day before. She looked at herself in the mirror. In the maroon dress, she looked beautiful, but she couldn’t help feeling self-conscious.

Ian’s words echoed in her mind.
“With this body, you can’t seduce me p>
Ava quickly looked away from the mirror, her eyes shifting to the glasses on the dressing table. She grabbed them and put them on. Her mother had insisted that she change her clothes, otherwise, she would have worn something loose, as she always did.
She didn’t want anyone to think she was trying to get attention again.
Ava went downstairs and saw her mother in a beautiful, long red dress. For the first time, she saw her mother wearing glamorous makeup.
Her beauty radiated, especially with the way she had styled her hair. It was as if her life had suddenly turned colorful.
Ava’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Mom,†she said, her voice breaking.
Her mother looked up at her. Ava ran to her and embraced her tightly.
“You look so beautiful, Mom p>
