Chapter 64
Chapter 64:
“She’s with me. Fuck off p>
They quickly changed their route. It seemed Stephen really had an impact on the boys. Why wouldn’t he? He was the soon-to-be Gamma of the pack.
“Thanks, Stephen p>
“No worries. Call me if you get lost p>
“Okay. Can you tell my friends I’m going upstairs p>
“Sure p>
She climbed the stairs and walked a short distance before arriving at a room. When she opened the door, she realized it was a bedroom. She closed the door behind her but didn’t lock it.
She walked into the attached bathroom. After using it, she glanced in the mirror. Her mascara was slightly smeared from the tears she had shed earlier.
She opened her bag and pulled out a tissue to dab at the corners of her eyes.
Once finished, she was about to leave the washroom when her phone rang.
She pulled her phone from her bag and saw that her mother was calling.
She answered the call and began to comb through her tangled hair with her fingers as she spoke.
“Yes, Mom p>
“I’m at home, and you’re not back yet. Where are you p>
“Mom, I’m still at the party. Should I come back now p>
“No. If you’re having fun, you can stay for a while longer. But I wanted to ask p>
Ava frowned at the pause. “What, Mom p>
“Have you found your mate there p>
Ava exhaled when she heard her. Her mother always hoped she would find her mate, not wanting her daughter to experience what she had—marrying someone else because she met her mate too late.
“No, Mom,†Ava replied.

She heard the sound of the door closing. Turning her head toward the bathroom door, she thought, Who came? Maybe Abigail and Debra.
Since she had asked Stephen to inform her friends, she presumed they had already arrived.
“Mom, I’ll be back soon. But you should eat your dinner now. Don’t wait for me. Please take care of your health p>
“Okay, my baby. Enjoy yourself there p>
After hanging up the phone, Ava took one last look at herself in the mirror before opening the bathroom door.
As she stepped out and closed the door behind her, she turned, expecting to see her friends. But her body froze when she saw Ian.
Ian was sitting on the edge of the bed, smoking a cigarette.
“Y-you p>
She stuttered as she spoke.
He flicked the ash from his cigarette to the floor and turned to look at her.
“Why? Were you expecting someone else p>
Ava gulped as she looked into Ian’s furious eyes.
