Chapter 17
Chapter 17:
Ava rushed out of the university, leaving Abigail and Debra behind.
She caught a glimpse of two boys fighting each other.
She began pushing through the crowd, trying to get a better look at them.
She was startled when she saw Ian hit Luke with his head, causing Luke to fall to the ground.
Her body froze when she saw Luke lying on the ground, blood streaming from his head.
A flashback from the past hit her.
Her father was lying on the ground like that, trying to defend himself, but those wolves had attacked him and killed him.

She heard voices calling out to her.
She snapped back to reality and noticed Ian raising his hand to punch Luke again.
Ava screamed at the top of her lungs, “STOP p>
To her surprise, Ian stopped and turned his head in her direction. He slowly stood up and glared at her.
But Ava pushed him aside, crouching down to Luke, which shocked everyone in the crowd.
She patted Luke’s cheek and mumbled,
“No, no, no. You can’t die. I can’t let you die. Please open your eyes p>
Even though her eyes were on Luke, her thoughts kept drifting back to when she was five years old, staring at her father, lying in a pool of blood on the ground.
Luke opened his eyes and coughed up blood. He looked at her and gave a slight smile.
“I’m okay. Relax, Ava p>

Abigail and Debra rushed over to Luke. They said they had already called the doctors, and they were on their way.
“You’ll be fine. Nothing will happen to you,†Ava said to Luke, but it felt like she was trying to convince herself with her words.
She was crying, and everyone witnessed it.
Meanwhile, Ian didn’t move after Ava pushed him. He stared at her with furious eyes.
Her reaction caught him off guard. He had been in many fights before, but he had never seen a girl behave this way for him, especially not the way she did for Luke.
“Ian, you almost killed the boy,†Ronald said, coming to stand next to him.
Though his friends wanted to stop him, Luke was the one who had started the fight, so they didn’t interfere with Ian. However, they didn’t expect Ian to be so angry.
Ian didn’t respond to Ronald. His gaze remained fixed on Ava as she spoke with Luke, who appeared fine despite his wounds.
All of Ian’s friends followed his gaze.
“The way he came to fight for her. It looks like he really likes her,†Stephen muttered.
“Did you notice how she reacted? It’s obvious she likes him too,†Ronald said, lighting a cigarette. He then started walking toward his car, which was parked nearby.
Ian glanced at his other friends before approaching Ronald. He snatched the cigarette that Ronald had just lit and leaned against his car.
