Chapter 107
Chapter 107:
Was that why he was acting cold toward her again?
Ava shrugged her shoulders and walked past him.
“I don’t care,†she thought, heading to class.
By noon, she and her friends had decided to go to the party together that night.
“I can’t believe your brother. He didn’t even invite his father or your mom to the celebration party. It should be his father’s party, not his,†Debra said.
“He said it’s a party for us. That’s why he didn’t invite Dad. I know even if he had invited them, neither Dad nor Mom would have come. In fact, they said Stephen only did it for his own satisfaction. It’s just another party he’s throwing,†Ava replied.
“What can we expect from the Power Gang?†Abigail mumbled, glancing at Stephen’s friends.
Ava turned her head in their direction. Her eyes landed on Ian, who was smoking while sitting on the trunk of his car. Her brother was beside him. All the boys were laughing about something.
Sometimes it felt awful that they were the future of the pack. They were just a bunch of bad boys who didn’t care for rules or regulations. In fact, they liked breaking them.
Stephen looked at Ava and raised his brow, silently asking her what was wrong.
She shook her head, thinking her brother was an exception. He had a good side.
Ava walked toward Abigail’s car. Debra got into the backseat, while Abigail took the driver’s seat. Ava sat in the passenger seat.
Abigail started the car as they headed toward Ava’s new home.
“I can’t believe I’m going to visit the Gamma’s house,†Debra exclaimed with excitement.
It was said that among all the officials, Gamma Harper was the wealthiest—visiting his home felt like entering a palace. Ava giggled at Debra’s excitement and glanced at Abigail, who kept her eyes on the road.
“What are you thinking?†Ava asked.
“Nothing much,†Abigail replied.

Ava’s phone buzzed. She checked the message from an unknown account: “Are you coming tonight?†Today Luke hadn’t been at university, so they hadn’t discussed the party with him.
“What if it’s Luke texting you from another profile?†Abigail suggested, doubtful.
“Maybe,†Debra agreed instantly.
Ava typed back, “Yes, I’m coming p>
She then turned to her friends. “If it is Luke playing a joke, I’ll unblock him p>
They soon arrived at Ava’s new home. The moment Abigail and Debra crossed the threshold, their jaws dropped.
“It’s so beautiful!†Debra exclaimed.
“I’m impressed,†Abigail added.
As they admired the grand foyer, Angela’s warm voice called, “What a pleasant surprise, my dears p>
They turned to see Ava’s mother approach and envelop them each in a hug. Angela beamed—she was grateful that Ava had such loyal friends.
Ava joined her mother’s side, thankful Angela had returned early today. The three of them fell into easy conversation about hospital life.
