Chapter 53
Chapter 53:
For quite some time, Ian had been fixated on Ava and Stephen.
It irritated him that Ava was getting closer and closer to Stephen. He was frustrated with Stephen because, when he asked him about what Ava had said, Stephen had brushed it off, claiming it was nothing. But it was obvious that something was going on between them, and Stephen didn’t want to tell him about it.
“Don’t you think he’s talking to that nerd too much?†Ian asked his friends.
“Everyone knows Stephen’s personality. He doesn’t usually talk to others unnecessarily. There must be a reason,†Cryan assumed.
“But what could the reason be?†Paul asked.
“There’s nothing going on, guys. He’s a man. He can fall for anyone,†Ronald said, glancing at Ian.
Ian furrowed his brow and turned to him. “What did you just say p>
“What? Did I say anything wrong? Don’t you all agree with me?†Ronald asked the others.
Ian scoffed and replied, “I know him. He can’t fall for that nerdy omega. In fact, no one would fall for a weak girl like her p>
Ronald nodded. “Who knows what he really wants? But it feels like you’re just telling that to yourself p>
Ian gave him an indifferent look, signaling that he didn’t care. “Why do I get the feeling that you’re jealous of Steph for talking to your ex-mate p>
“Excuse me? Is there anything about her that piques my interest or makes me jealous?†Ian asked, scoffing.
However, his expression darkened when he saw Stephen hugging Ava. His jaw clenched as he watched them.
He saw Ava hand her phone to Stephen, as if they were exchanging phone numbers.
Ronald raised his eyebrows and looked at the others, who were also watching the scene.
“Cherry on top, he got the girl’s number p>

“Now this looks serious. We need to ask him,†Paulo said.
Ian clenched his fists, unsure of why he was feeling this way. He wanted to approach Ava and scold her for giving her contact number to anyone else.
‘How cheap! She’s handing out her number to other boys!’ Ian thought, frustration rising inside him.
After some time, Ava left, and Stephen eventually returned to join them.
“What were you talking about? It took too long,†Paulo asked. Stephen had a big smile on his face, which made Ian frown.
“You look like you’ve won the lottery,†Paulo teased.
“Bro, I’ve got more than that. I can’t even begin to explain how happy I am right now,†Stephen replied, his smile widening.
Ronald patted Stephen on the shoulder and said, “Then tell us p>
Stephen was about to speak but paused when he glanced at Ian. He remembered what Ava had asked him— to keep it a secret until their parents got married.
“I’m sorry, guys. I can’t tell you anything right now. But I promise I’ll let you know soon,†he said with a grin.
Ian didn’t respond. He wasn’t in the mood to argue with his friend. He was about to leave when Stephen stopped him.
