Chapter 78
Chapter 78:
“It’s not funny,†he muttered.
Stephen shook his head. “But what you did to my sister was really wrong p>
“Sister?†Ian echoed.
“Yeah. She’s going to be my sister. From now on, be careful with her. She’ll be a Gamma’s daughter and a Gamma’s sister. So don’t mess with her again p>
Ian rolled his eyes. “Whatever p>
Although he pretended not to care, he actually felt incredibly relieved. That weight he’d been carrying was finally lifted.
“Ian, you hurt her again at the party. I didn’t expect that from you,†Stephen reminded him.
At that moment, Ian finally realized what he had done. He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration and muttered,
“Damn it. I said so many things to her, and it wasn’t even her fault p>
Ava’s POV
It had been two days since we had dinner with Stephen and his father. I really liked Uncle Harper. He was a kind and gentle man, especially with my mother. For the first time, I saw my mother genuinely happy with someone else, and that made me truly glad for her.
I woke up a little later than usual today. Last night, my mother had gone shopping with Luna Carolina. When she returned home, she showed me all the dresses she had bought, including the one she planned to wear to her wedding. We ended up talking for a long time, and I completely lost track of time, eventually falling asleep in the morning.
My mother suggested that I stay home today if I was feeling tired, but I refused and decided to go to university. When it came to my studies, I never made concessions. Maybe that’s why people thought of me as a nerd. Was I really a bookworm? These weren’t even novels—just textbooks. Even if I didn’t find them as interesting as novels, I knew I needed this knowledge for a bright future.
I opened my closet to pick out a dress. I checked out all the new ones, but most seemed either too plain or too baggy. Then I found a long blue cotton dress and quickly got ready. I glanced at myself in the mirror, noticing how my dark brown hair complemented my complexion, making my face look even lighter. I couldn’t deny it—the color suited me.
After putting on my glasses, I gathered my hair into a loose bun and slipped on a pair of sneakers.

As I headed down the stairs, my thoughts drifted to my mother’s upcoming wedding. I realized she had already left for work, but she had made breakfast for me before leaving.
“Mom, you work so hard for me. I hope your mate will love you always,†I murmured as I ate.
Since I was already running late, I decided to start my day with breakfast.
Alpha and Luna had finally decided on the date for my mother’s wedding. It would be held at the pack house this coming weekend.
Alpha wanted to host the wedding of his Gamma at his own residence. He and Luna Carolina both liked my mother very much. Since my mother had saved Luna Carolina’s life, they felt they owed her and wanted to give her a good life.
After having breakfast alone, I left home and walked to the bus stop, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It was a bright, sunny day, and the sun seemed to be in an especially good mood, shining brilliantly.
