She thought he was just talking about her words, but then she noticed his gaze shift toward Luke.

Ava looked into his indignant eyes. She couldn’t understand him. She began to feel that she should never have fallen for this boy before their rejection. Her secret crush on him had only ended up breaking her heart. She felt angry at herself for ever having feelings for someone like him.

But a pair of arms caught her before she could fall. She looked up and saw it was Luke. He helped her stand and then stepped in front of her, shielding her. Abigail rushed to Ava and hugged her.
