Second Marriage to Mr. Rich Chapter 254

Chapter 254

Gregory took out his phone. He debated if he should call Angeline and tell her.
Then he thought about the man who had shielded Angeline and taken her away from the fight. He was worried that Angeline would be with him right now. He considered if his call would cause a misunderstanding between them.
Now Ned had a fiancée, and Angeline had a protector by her side. Gregory thought
it would be best if Ned and Angeline never interacted again.
When Trevor received news of Ned’s admission to the hospital, he rushed over, looking pale.
Fletcher Corporation was in a precarious situation, and Ned had to stay safe.
“Angeline Ned suddenly gripped his bedsheets tightly as he murmured her name.
His brow and neck were covered with sweat.
He seemed to be in the grip of an intense nightmare.
In his dreams, he saw Angeline dressed in a school uniform as she sat on the balcony with him. She handed him a lollipop.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going pursue a direct entry to a doctorate course at Krontos University. Since I promised to stay with you, I’ll slowly grow up with you.”
Under the sunset glow, Angeline’s delicate features were relatively expressionless. The evening breeze tossed her hair around her face. There was a warm glow in her bright, clear eyes.
The scene changed. Angeline had just come out of her coma and was struggling, even with walking. He pushed her to the ground and crushed the lollipop under his foot in irritation. He crouched down and looked at Angeline, who had tears streaming down her face.
“I told you that I can’t remember! Why are you being so desperate? I enjoy eating sweets, but only the ones that Baby gives me.”
Once, when they were in high school, several schools gathered for a joint outdoor training camp. Ned had hidden his phone away so he could call Angeline, who had been at a competition and hadn’t returned in time for camp.
The camp counselor caught him during night inspections, and when he went through Ned’s phone, he discovered all the photos that Ned had taken secretly of Angeline. Everyone in the dorm had squeezed over to him and demanded to know who the gorgeous girl in the pictures was.
Ned had proudly called her his wife.
The next day, he had to stand
outside near the flagpole as part of his penalty. As he stood there, Angefine arrived. She had been late because of her competition, and her arrival immediately attracted the attention of all the boys on the sports field.
Ned wished the ground would swallow him whole. He had looked away guiltily,
afraid that Angeline would recognize him.
However, when he went to the cafeteria for lunch later that day, Angeline
approached him and handed him his phone. She had gotten it back from the camp counselor.
He hugged her in surprise.
“How did you get my phone back?”
Mallory was arm-in-arm with Angeline.
She winked exaggeratedly at Ned before squealing shrilly, “You don’t know how cool Angeline was today! She found out that your phone was confiscated and you were being punished, so she went straight to the camp commander and challenged him to a shooting competition.
“She managed to win your phone back for you. That’s not all! Angeline challenged all the camp counselors and requested that they give you the privilege of keeping your phone. Ta-da! She got it back! Our genius never disappoints!”
There was a smile in Angeline’s eyes.
He’d hugged her recklessly and said in a low voice, “I won’t let anyone hurt you either.”
The scene changed again. It was snowing, and Zachary had brought Ned and Angeline to the shooting range. Zachary reminisced about the events at the training camp.
Ned had pushed Angeline into a snowdrift, taken off his gloves, and pointed his gun at her.
“If it weren’t for Baby, I’d shoot you so full of holes that you’d look like Swiss cheese!”
Angeline had broken down.
“Stop calling her ‘Baby’!”
