Chapter 280
Ned was at a loss. Angeline had once asked him if he’d regret the past if he regained his memories.
He knew now that he was beyond remorseful. He felt like dying. Angeline had been with him throughout his teenage years and meant the world to him.
Alas, he had ruined his life.
“I should’ve been the one who fell into a coma from the car accident. Why wasn’t I the one? How could I…” Ned suffered from a breakdown. He clutched at his hair. “How could I forget about Angie? How could I treat her so badly?”
This was Trevor’s first time seeing Ned in such a state. He forcefully pinned Ned down on the shoulders and picked up Ned’s broken phone from the ground.
Then, he mustered his energy to move Ned away from the road to his car. “Won’t you look at yourself? Pull yourself together if you want to get Ms. Emmerson back. Looking at you now, no sane woman would want to be with you.”
Trevor opened the car door and shoved Ned into the backseat. He was about to drive the car away when he spotted an incoming call from Zachary flashing on Ned’s cracked phone screen.
Trevor tugged on his tie and answered the call, “Hey, Mr. Stone…”
“Hi, Mr. Marshall. Where’s Ned?”
Trevor cast a look at Ned, who was crying silently in the backseat. He rubbed his forehead and explained, “Mr. Fletcher has regained his memories. Just now, he ran into Ms. Emmerson, but she ignored him. He ran after her for a while. He’s not in a great state now.”
“Has he regained his memories?” Zachary sounded stunned.
Ever since Angeline woke up from the coma, Zachary witnessed the drama unfolding between her and Ned. He watched as Ned, carrying vitriol toward her, hurt her in various ways. He had been secretly waiting for Ned to recover his memory and wallow in regret.
Years passed, but Ned didn’t display any signs of recovery. Just as Zachary thought that Ned might never regain the lost memory, Ned suddenly did.
However, Ned was already engaged with Ingrid at that time.
Zachary questioned, “How did it happen so suddenly?”
“Well, it wasn’t sudden.” Trevor sighed. “One night, Mr. Fletcher visited the Night Palace. He saved his cousin, Gregory Steele, and Ms. Angeline from bullying but ended up getting hit in the head with an
ashtray. That was how he regained his memory. He even wanted to call off his engagement to Ms. Dalton.”
Zachary hadn’t expected the events that occurred between then and now. He asked, “Is Angie… in Krontos now?”
“Yes!”
Zachary thought of asking for
Angeline’s contact, but upon second thought, he dismissed the idea because even Ned probably didn’t have the information, given Ned’s current state of relationship with Angeline.
He inquired, “I’m in Krontos now. Where are you guys? I’ll meet up with Ned.”
Trevor replied, “I’m sending him back to his villa in Krontos. Head over to the villa if you want to meet him.”
“Sure.”
After hanging up, Trevor entered the car and drove Ned home.

Angeline received a call from Sean when she was about to reach the apartment lobby. She explained to him that her phone had been switched to silent mode.
He replied, “Yeah, I know. I put your phone in silent mode back in the dressing room, and I figured you must’ve forgotten to check your phone after that.”
The bodyguard behind Angeline rushed to the front, pressing the elevator button for her. She gave him a nod of thanks.
Then, she said to Sean, “Mr. Lawson Senior probably summoned you back to the old Lawson residence for some important matters. He’ getting older, so… be patient with him.”
