Chapter 390
Jamie wondered why an actress would look for Ms. Lawson.
“She said she was Ms. Lawson’s junior,” Sarah replied.
“Alright. I’ll let you know after Ms. Lawson comes out of Mr. Lawson’s office,” Jamie said.
Angeline answered Simon’s phone call in Sean’s office. He had agreed to release a collaboration piece with Lawson Global and had delayed his return trip.
After hanging up the phone, Angeline smiled and told Sean, “Norwalk Corporation had no problem with the collaboration. We can announce the collab during the announcement of the Minister of Commerce of Marvonia’s trip to Ica.
“Also, the video of Simon and I having a meal had worked. The collaboration with Fontenay is also progressing.”
Sean stared at Angeline, who looked sparkling when talking about work, and said, “When I’m gone, I would only worry about someone coveting for you instead of you ceasing to be faithful.”
“Huh?” Angeline stared at Sean in confusion.
“I mean… It seems you only have work in your mind.” Sean laughed.
“Research, too,” Angeline replied. “Speaking of which, I have to go to Ravoria. Something went wrong with the research. I have to see what happened and will be back in a week.
“I’ll leave after finalizing the collaboration with Norwalk Corporation. Will that be any trouble to you?”
Sean and Angeline were aware he would leave after Angeline took over Lawson Global.
“Have you considered moving the research lab to Lonla?” Sean asked. “You can’t keep going back and forth between both places after I left.”
“Danny is already looking at places. Aside from the under-construction research building, we could use Fletcher Corporation’s laboratory in Oceanford temporarily if everything went well.”
Sean raised an eyebrow as he heard Fletcher Corporation and thought about Ned.
“Do you have appointments in the afternoon?” Angeline asked.
“I have a lunch appointment with a client, then a business trip in the afternoon. I’ll try
to return by tomorrow night,” Sean answered as if he was reporting his whereabouts to his wife.
“Have you packed your things for the business trip?” Angeline asked.
“Yup. I had the housekeeper pack them for me. I’ll ask Taylor to get it before I leave, so don’t worry!” Sean smiled.
“I’ll ask the housekeeper to pack a lunch too,” Angeline said as her phone rang. She saw it was from Monica and stood up. “I’ll return to my office first.”
“Wait.” Sean stood up from behind his desk and walked toward Angeline. He grabbed her slim wrist and cradled the back of Angeline. head toward him before kissing her. “I’ll be on a business trip after meeting a client. You won’t be
seeing me tonight. Don’t be
have
anything to say before you leave?”
Angeline felt a tingling burn on her ears and held Sean’s hand, which was caressing her lips. “Stop, Sean. We’re in your office.”
While the phone continued ringing, Angeline said, “I have to answer this.”
Sean kissed Angeline again, causing her to lean against the desk and knock over the ornaments.
Angeline lifted her chin to accept Sean’s kiss, with one hand holding onto Sean’s wrist and the other against the desk.
From the corner of her eyes, Angeline saw that the electric switchable floor-to-ceiling glass facing the building on the opposite side was transparent. She quickly fumbled for the remote on the desk and clicked it.
The glass immediately turned opaque.
