Chapter 391
Angeline’s relationship with Sean was complicated. She had to be cautious so that no one noticed them.
Otherwise, as Brayden had said, it would taint the Lawson family’s name.
Angeline stiffened as she heard a door knock and pushed Sean away. But Sean sucked on her tongue in return with a strong, possessive instinct of a man.
As the knock at the door sounded again, Angeline patted Sean while panting.
“Just a moment, please!” Sean helped Angeline comb her stray hair and switched off the switchable glass before stoically sitting behind the desk.
“I’ll take my leave then.” Angeline opened the door with the phone in her hand.
Taylor greeted Angeline outside the door, “Hello, Ms. Lawson.”
Angeline lightly nodded and left Sean’s office before being stopped by Jamie. “Ms. Lawson, the receptionist said Ingrid Dalton, the actress who’s also the global ambassador for Norwalk Corporation, wants to meet you.
“She said she’s your junior.”
Angeline looked at Monica’s phone number and said, “Tell her to wait in the reception room and come after ten minutes.”
Ingrid came right after Angeline had just finished her call with Simon. Angeline presumed she was here for Simon’s life-saving grace.
While Angeline could ignore her, she was worried Ingrid might cause trouble. Considering Lawson Global’s collaboration with Norwalk Corporation, she didn’t want anything to happen to Ingrid, the global ambassador of Norwalk Corporation. “Roger!” Jamie replied.
As soon as Angeline entered her office, she answered Monica’s phone, “Hello, Ms. Monica. I take that you’ve received the news?”
“Yup, my father called to let me be in charge of the project with Lawson Global,” Monica said. “I wonder how you convinced Lara that she had to ask my father for help.”
“It’s not a big deal. I merely told Ms. Lara that I didn’t want anyone to get in our way after I signed the contract with Scott Incorporated,” Angeline answered with a smile. “I believe Mr. Lawson wouldn’t want anything to happen if his fianceet’s responsible for the project.”
“But, I thought you knew my relationship with Sean wasn’t like that?” Monica asked in confusion.
“I know, but the others don’t. Anyway, I look forward to a smooth cooperation,” Angeline replied.
After a moment of hesitation, Monica asked, “Don’t mind if I ask Ms. Lawson. Is it because you’re so close with Sean that you two arent bothered event the people are provoking right before you?
“Or, have you started fighting for the inheritance with Sean? Considering our collaboration, we should be honest with each other. That way, we can accommodate each of our benefits.”
“I’m not at liberty to share the Lawson family’s matter, Ms. Monica. All I can say is we both hope for the best for Lawson Global,” Angeline answered.
Although Monica didn’t get the answer she wanted, she wasn’t bothered. “Okay, I understood. As long as it’s for the best for Lawson Global.”
Jamie brought Ingrid over after Angeline hung up the phone.
With her hands shaking, tears fell behind Ingrid’s sunglasses as she saw Angeline. “Please have a seat.” Angeline pointed toward the couch. “Would you like a drink?” “Are you Vitality Biotech Group’s founder, Angie?” Ingrid asked, sobbing.
“You should leave first, Jamie,” Angeline ordered before leaving her desk and sitting on the couch. “Have a seat first, Ms. Dalton.”
Jamie nodded worryingly before leaving. However, he left a gap and stood outside the door in case Ingrid had ill intentions toward Angeline.
Ingrid walked to the side of the
couch but didn’t sit down. She took off her sunglasses and looked at Angeline with swollen red eyes. “So, youll framed Tomm to be addicted to gambling, then
then lured.
him to steal Vitality Biotech Group’s
formula and made Fletcher
Corporation go bankrupt!
“If you did it to seek revenge for Henrietta, then I have nothing to say. But why? Why
did you frame Ned, too?”
