Chapter 362
Securing Angeline’s position at Lawson Global would put both Sean and Robert at
ease.
“Where will you return to after we’re done here?” Sean asked.
“Grand Court Residences. It’s closer to Lawson Global, so I won’t have to worry about traffic.”
Angeline’s heart started racing even before she finished her sentence. She tightened her hold around his neck.
“Do you… wanna come over?”
Her heart raced even more once the words were out of her mouth. It was practically an invitation.
The hungry look in Sean’s eyes made her breathing hitch. She looked down to avoid
his gaze.
“Pretend I didn’t say that if you have other plans.”
Just then, Sean’s and Angeline’s phones started ringing. Despite that, he held her close and kissed her again, sucking on her tongue until she was at risk of suffocating.
She was dazed when he released her.
Then, he rubbed her burning ears and said, “Answer the phone.”
Angeline watched as Sean picked his phone up from the dining table and headed to the window to answer it. She picked hers up and answered it, too.
“Ms. Lawson, Ms. Lara seems to be in quite a rush. She wants to meet you at 3:00 pm today. Where do you think would be a good place to meet?” Jamie asked.
Angeline touched her red and swollen lips.
She said in a low voice, “Tell her I’ll meet her at Glitz Cafe at 3:20 pm.”
She picked a cafe that wasn’t too far from where they were now.
She filled her mug with coffee and looked up to see Sean on the phone by the window. She got him a cup as well.
When he returned after ending the call, Angeline had already finished her coffee. She was ready to leave.
“Where are you meeting her?” Sean asked.
“Glitz Cafe.”
Angeline packed the laptop and documents on the table and put them into her bag.
“If it’s still early and I’m done with Ms. Lara, I’ll return to the company.”
“I might be back a little later tonight. Remember to have dinner,” Sean said.
“Okay.”
Angeline nodded. She could guess that he was going to see Brayden.
“Don’t stay out too late.”
When she left the villa, Lenny, who’d been waiting by the entrance, hurried over to hold her bag.
“Let me take that, Ms. Angeline.”
On their way to Glitz Cafe, Angeline looked up from her phone and said to Lenny, “I heard from Brayden that you used to work for him.”
“Yeah.”
He didn’t hide anything from her.
“Mr. Green’s amazing. He trained me and the few other bodyguards sent to protect Mr. Lawson.”
Angeline nodded.
Lenny continued, “Mr. Green’s
actually a really nice guy. He may not say the nicest things and behaves as though he’s out of his mind, but he’s kind on the inside.
You don’t have to be too scared of him.”
Lenny was the cream of the crop among the bodyguards that Brayden had trained. Brayden initially planned to have Lenny protect Sean onge Sean left the Lawson family He didn’t expect Sean to have Lenny protect Angeline instead.
This meant that Lenny would have to protect Angeline from now on. There wouldn’t be any way of hiding the fact that Sean’s real identity was Shane Kingston if a man who looked just like Sean had Angeline’s bodyguard with him.
Still, it was only natural for Brayden to be upset. He’d put so much effort into training
an incredibly loyal bodyguard for Sean, yet Sean had instructed said bodyguard to protect someone else.
