Chapter 329
Ned’s words hurt Ingrid. She sniffed.
“I haven’t stooped so low that I need a woman’s help!” he snarled.
“Just be concerned about yourself!”
Ned hung up. Knowing that Angeline had blocked him, he drove straight to Lawson Global and waited patiently for her. He saw Danny winding out of the building, skipping happily to his car before he left. Ned exited his car, lighting a cigarette as he gazed at the building silently.
He thought he and Angeline would stay with each other forever. He never expected them to drift so far apart.
Fletcher Corporation was where he began, but his business remained stagnant despite his many years there. Angeline, on the other hand, always seemed incredulously competent.
She had nothing besides Sean’s support when they first divorced. Not only did she become a mother, but she also established Vitality Biotech Group in just four years. The group had grown so formidable that even Marvonia was wary of it.
Ned’s fingers trembled slightly as he drew the cigarette closer to his lips. Loosening his tie, he figured Sean was right about one thing—he was the one who held Angeline back when they were together. He refused to imagine how capable she’d be by now if she hadn’t rejected Krontos University’s offer to pursue a doctorate after her bachelor’s for his sake.
His eyes turned red at the thought.
It was getting dark, and a fine drizzle began to fall. Lawson Global remained brightly
lit as a pile of cigarette butts clustered next to Ned’s feet.
Lenny was driving Angeline’s car from the basement when he spotted Ned, who parked his car at the roadside. He glanced at Angeline, who was skimming through documents in the backseat.
“Ms. Angeline, Mr. Fletcher’s over there.”
Angeline’s head jerked up.
Ned seemed to recognize her car as he strode toward them.
“Ignore him,” she said, her gaze returning to the documents.
Sensing that her car had no intention of stopping, Ned scrambled into his car and tailed after her.
“Mr. Fletcher’s tailing us. Do you want to shake him off?” Lenny asked.
“No. Maintain the speed. I don’t want to waste any time.”
Angeline had to finish reviewing the documents.
She knew the reason for Ned’s appearance. She suspected that he must’ve now heard of her undertaking the role of vice president at Lawson Global since she was acknowledged for her capability as the founder of Vitality
Biotech Group.
If he suddenly discovered that she was the founder just as his company was
reaching the brink of bankruptcy, he’d certainly have questions for her.
Angeline glanced up and gazed outside the window. Through the drenched window, the view of Krontos became a blur.
It dawned on her that she would eventually have to set things straight with Ned. Her place was a stone’s throw from Lawson Global. She decided to sort things out with him now as she didn’t want him to learn her address.
“Lenny, pull over now,” she instructed.
“Alright. “
Lenny drove into the auxiliary lane and parked at a temporary parking spot. He emerged from the car and retrieved an umbrella from the trunk. As freopened the car door for Angeline; he poised the

above her head.
She saw Ned approaching right after she stepped out of the car. His car came to a
halt as well.
She took the umbrella from Lenny and said, “Wait for me in the car.”
