Chapter 373
Simon chuckled lowly.
“I understand.”
Angeline’s use of the fact that she’d saved Simon to get Norwalk Corporation involved in a political matter wasn’t enough to cover the havoc Ingrid’s lie would wreak on the company.
But the revelation of Angeline being Simon’s savior and Norwalk Corporation being at risk of harm made Simon pause to consider the issue at the important juncture of Marvonia’s diplomatic visit to Ica.
Angeline was an incredible academic, but she was an even better businesswoman. Simon put the folder down.
“It’s no wonder you managed to get Vitality Biotech to where it is in such a short time. Aside from your accomplishments in academia, you’re also an amazing entrepreneur. As for this matter… I need to meet with my people.”
When Angeline saw that he didn’t return the folder to her but placed it down beside him instead, she knew she’d succeeded. She smiled and nodded.
“Of course!”
“It’s 11 years too late, but I must thank you. Thank you for saving me back then!” Simon held up his wine glass earnestly.
“C’mon, don’t tell me you believe Boss just because she said so,” Danny teased. “You didn’t look into the matter when Ingrid claimed to be your savior, right? How else could you have gotten the wrong person?”
“I trust Angeline.”
Simon’s eyes seemed particularly gentle in the glow of the restaurant’s warm lights.
“She wouldn’t lie to me about something like this. I’m in the wrong for not looking closely into the matter before today.”
Angeline clinked glasses with Simon.
“I accept your gratitude, but you don’t need to be too bothered by it. I stand by what I said I would’ve saved whoever it was in that situation. It was something that I did, by the way.”
…
When leaving the restaurant, Lenny immediately hurried forward to take Angeline’s bag per the instructions he’d received. He also handed her her coat to eliminate any opportunity for Simon to have bodily contact with her.
“I’ll send you home,” Simon said.
“No, it’s fine. Someone’s here to pick me.”
Angeline smiled at Sean when she saw him get out of the car.
Simon and Danny stepped forward to shake hands and greet him. Angeline got into
the car after bidding farewell to Simon and Danny.
Then, Simon asked Danny, “Are Mr. Lawson and Angeline…”
“Don’t even go down that rabbit hole. Think about their identities! Mr. Lawson
is Mr Lawson Senior ne
adoptive son, and Boss is Mo Lawson Senior’s granddaughter.”
Danny glanced at the folder Simon held.
He said, “Boss is a great person everyone who’s worked with her knows that. She’s always strived to reach a win-win situation for both parties, not one that benefits only herself. .net
“Think about it—if Norwalk Corporation were to work with Lawson Global, wouldn’t it
help you break into the Lonla market?”
“I already thought about that.”
Simon said, “Don’t worry. I’ll give this a good thought.”
“Alright, then. I should get going. I
won’t see you off before your flight back to tea tomorrower’s go skiing in Swimmerland when you have some time off next.”
Danny smiled.
…
Sean had Lenny drive Angeline’s car while he drove Angeline back to Grand Court Residences. On their way there, she called Lenny.
“Did you get the video?”
“Yes, Ms. Angeline,” Lenny said.
“Good. Send it to Jamie.”
Then, she called Jamie.
“Save the video Lenny’s about to send you and have the people in Fontenay learn about my meeting with Simon. Jason Goldblum is negotiating with them.”
Sean held the steering wheel with one hand.
After Angeline hung up, he asked, “Is Jason having trouble with the negotiation?”
