Chapter 338
“Mr. Lawson, Ms. Angeline, morning.”
Lenny was already waiting outside. He took the documents from Angeline swiftly and pressed the elevator button.
Angeline and Sean rode the same car to the company. The senior executives, who were waiting for the elevator, greeted them once they emerged from the basement. They both nodded in response.
Taylor and Jamie were expecting them outside the elevator. Once they stepped out of the elevator, Taylor and Jamie hurried toward their respective employers and began to brief them about their work schedules.
Sean’s office was a stone’s throw from Angeline’s. Before entering her office, she could still hear him instructing Taylor to fetch the finance director.
Once she removed her jacket, Jamie took it and hung it aside.
“The project proposal Helen sent on Lawson Global’s behalf was like what Mr. Reilly said. It’s more profitable than the one you sent him.
“Mr. Wagler had just sent the latest project proposal this morning. It’s a
compromise… He wants you to look at it.”
“I don’t think I’ll go through it. He’s in charge of this project and should contact Mr. Reilly from Vitality immediately. Tell him I won’t be involved because of the conflict of interest,” Angeline replied.
While ordering Jamie, she gestured at Lenny for him to bring her last night’s documents.
“Get the managers from the project management and sales departments.
“Also, ask the finance director to pop in after he’s done with Mr. Lawson.”
“Noted!”
Jamie headed out.
At Robert’s birthday banquet, Monica mentioned that Scott Incorporated was planning to construct the largest CBD project in Krontos.
Angeline spent meticulous effort in doing a background check on Scott Incorporated. They had close ties with the government, so acquiring insider information to cooperate, with the government on Kronto’s planning was easy.
Soon, the project management department manager, Kerri Lloyd, and the sales department manager Yvonne Yancey, arrived at Angeline’s office. They left promptly after going through the materials and taking her orders.
Gary Xanders, the finance director, learned that Angeline was expecting him once he exited Sean’s office. He spun around and glanced at Sean’s office wondering if Angeline wanted to meet him because she knew he was summoned by Sean earlier. He wondered if she was trying to pry information from him.
He contemplated if Angeline was already scheming to seize power right after entering the Lawson family.
Gary wouldn’t be surprised if she were. She founded Vitality Biotech Group and sent the business soaring to unimaginably great heights, after all.
He figured Robert was trying to test Sean and Angeline by putting them in the same company. He even had Asher arrange their offices to be next to each other.
The winner would have the right to inherit the company. That meant Gary would have to choose his side wisely.
Stroking his chin, he handed the documents he brought from Sean’s office to his assistant. He sighed and regained his composure before knocking on Angeline’s door.
“Ms. Lawson, were you asking for me?” he asked with a smile.
“Yes.”
Angeline was engrossed in reading the documents.
“Have a seat.”
Gary took a seat across from her. He guessed she would probably ask about his conversation with Sean earlier and win him over.
