Chapter 363
“Oh, I’m not afraid of him,” Angeline said with a smile.
Despite Brayden’s lackadaisical attitude, Sean evidently trusted him. She wouldn’t think of anyone Sean trusted as her enemy, even if they didn’t appear to be good. She didn’t need to fear Brayden.
Lara arrived at Glitz Cafe a few minutes earlier than Angeline did. When she saw Angeline, she pushed the proposal toward her and gestured for her to have a look.
When Angeline saw that Lawson Global would only receive 20%, she didn’t bother looking at the rest of the document.
She laughed and said, “I wanted 50%, but you’re only giving me 20%. This isn’t how haggling is done, Ms. Lara. I don’t think there’s any need for us to waste our time anymore.”
She got up without even bothering to drink her coffee.
“I can only give you 25% at most. That’s the most I can offer!”
Lara’s smile faded. After all, land No. 3 was in a very important location.
“I can provide you with some extra benefits in private. It’ll be off the record!”
“Lawson Global is the culmination of my grandfather’s hard work, Ms. Lara. I want it to improve, and I’ve never once thought about secretly making money. If that were what I wanted, I would’ve bought land No. 3 under my own name and not the company’s.
“You still have time to reconsider, Ms. Lara. Either that or you can amend your blueprint and leave land No. 3 out of the picture.”
Angeline smiled brightly.
“I’m running a little short on time. The coffee tasted good, Ms. Lara. Thanks for that.”
With that, Angeline grabbed her bag and left the private room. As the door shut behind her, the smile on Lara’s face disappeared. She slammed her coffee cup on the table. Why was Angeline so stubborn?
Once Angeline got into the car, she called Jamie and had him draft a partnership contract with Scott Incorporated. Lawson Global would hold 30% of the ownership. After she met with Lara she knew this was a number Lara could accept
When the time came, it probably wouldn’t be too difficult to have Monica handle the matter and liaise with Lawson Global.
As Angeline had expected, as soon as she hung up on her call with Jamie, Monica called her.
“27% is our limit, Ms. Lawson.”
“30%. I have another condition that won’t be of much significance to Scott Incorporated. If you agree to it, you can bring your teamöver to Lawson Globalto sign the contract either tomorrow or the day after,” Angeline said briskly.
On the other end of the line, Lara pursed her lips.
“What is it?”
“I want to select the person in your company who’ll liaise with Lawson Global.”
Lara sighed in relief when she heard that.
“Deal.”
“As expected of someone who’s meant to do great things. I’ll have my people draw up a contract and send it to you as soon as possible.”
When Angeline arrived at Lawson Global, she told Jamie, “Once the contract’s ready, have the legal department review it and send it to Scott Incorporated immediately.”
When word about this got out, everyone at Lawson Global was abuzz. Who would’ve expected Angeline to take a piece of Scott Incorporated’s pie as soon as she made her move? She’d evensecured 30% of the project ownership.
This project to build Krontos’ largest CBD was Scott Incorporated’s most important one in recent years.
A Lawson Global legal team member tugged Jamie’s sleeve and asked, “What’s
going on? How did Ms. Lawson manage to land Scott Incorporated’s project just like that?”
