Chapter 411
“Ms. Lawson, Mr. Lawson is here and wants you to see him in his office. I think he’s not in a good mood,” Jamie warned Angeline.
Angeline, who was tidying up her documents, was stunned and nodded. “Okay, I’l be there in a minute. You can continue with your work.”
After preparing the documents, Angeline knocked on Sean’s door.
Taylor came out of the office and smiled at Angeline. He courteously closed the door for Angeline and Sean.
Angeline stared as Sean took his coat off and placed it on his chair. She walked before his desk and asked, “Jamie said you’re not in a good mood. Did something happen at Kahors yesterday?”
Sean tidied the sleeves of his shirt without answering. He walked around the desk toward Angeline and said before leaning on the desk, “Who gifted you that giant bouquet of roses?”
“I don’t know. The card said Ned,” Angeline replied. “But, I know it wasn’t him. He knows I dislike roses.”
Without a word, Sean took the documents from Angeline and threw them on the desk. He leaned forward toward Angeline and said with a smile, “He knows you well, does he?”
Angeline blushed from seeing Sean’s handsome face this close to her. She couldn’t hide the smile in her eyes. “What’s the matter? Are you jealous?”
Sean grabbed Angeline’s arm and pulled her toward him. She stumbled and knocked over the chair behind her before being pulled into Sean’s embrace.
“That Ned knows you well, hmm?” Sean smiled and asked again with his hand cradling Angeline’s cheek and thumb pressing on her bottom lip.
Their eyes met.
Sean’s gaze under the gleaming gold-rimmed glasses made Angeline feel a tingle down her spine.
“I grew up with Ned, so it makes sense for him to know a lot about me. But he doesn’t know me as much as you do,” Angeline said while staring into Sean’s eyes.
eyes showed no signs of lying. “You know more about me than I do.
Since we first met, every single
advice you’ve given me has come true.

So, you know me better than I know myself.”
Angeline softly rubbed her cheek on Sean’s hand and grabbed Sean’s vest with
both her hands before asking, “Why are you so jealous?”
Sean tightened his arm around Angeline’s slim waist, and the two became closer to each other. “I even felt jealous of someone looking you with covétoris eyes Do you think won’t be jealous when you tell me your ex-husband, who gifted you flowers, knows about you?”
Perhaps jealousy wasn’t the correct word to describe Sean’s current state.
“Well then, do you think I should be jealous of you for having an excellent fiancée like Melissa, who’s also your childhood friend, that even your precious cousin, Brayden, helped you to be with her by drugging you?”
Sean’s face fell. His grip on Angeline’s cheek tightened as he stared at her.
“You’re hurting me a little.” Angeline’s brows knitted as she grabbed Sean’s arm. “Aren’t you angry?” Sean asked.
“Because I believe in you. I don’t care
what was your relationship with Melissa before you were with me, but you returned to me even when Brayden drugged you. Won’t I have no sense of conscience if I don’t believe in you?” Angeline answered while wrapping her arms around Sean’s waist. “Plus, I’ve already told Jamie to throw the flowers away!”
