Chapter 309
Sean walked Angeline to her bedroom. His gaze landed on her lips, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. He held himself from kissing her since they were at the old Lawson residence. Instead, he just said, “Get some rest. You’ll be plenty busy starting tomorrow.”
She nodded. “Okay. Well… goodnight. You get some rest, too.”
As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Sean placed a hand on the door and took a step into the room. He wrapped his free hand around the back of her head and gave her a searing kiss.
The door was still wide open, and they were at the old Lawson residence. Angeline’s eyes widened in shock; she tried to push him away.
The kiss, though passionate, didn’t last long. Sean looked down at Angeline, whose ears were bright red. He said in a low voice, “Goodnight.”
“There are surveillance cameras around here!” Angeline’s heart raced. She was afraid Robert would catch them.
Since getting Jessica back, surveillance cameras had been installed in every corridor in the old Lawson residence. On one hand, Robert was afraid of Jessica going missing again. On the other hand, he also worried something would happen to her, now that she was in such a bad mental state.
“Something went wrong with the surveillance cameras on this floor this afternoon. Someone will only come to look at them tomorrow morning.” Sean backed out of the room. “See you tomorrow.”
Angeline leaned against the door and nodded. “See you.”
She shut the door and turned to look at Xavier and Yasmine, who were sound asleep. She pecked them on their chubby cheeks, then headed to the bathroom to take a shower. Then, she got into bed and fell asleep with her arms around the kids.
The next morning, Angeline changed into a form-fitting, high-collared black dress that reached her knees. She wore a white suit jacket with a black lapel on top of it. She paired the outfit with a simple diamond necklace and a white diamond watch with a leather band.
It gave her an elegant, elite look. She was tall and slender, to begin with, so when she put her heels on, she exuded dominance.
When she and Sean showed up outside Lawson Global’s building, the employees started whispering among themselves about them.
They watched as the two walked into the elevator meant for the company’s president. Taylor, Angeline’s assistant, Jamie Tatum, and Lenny were behind them. A few curious employees carefully took photos of them and shared them in their group chats.
Work Insanity: “Hold up. Who’s that woman with Mr. Lawson? Has Mr. Powell been fired? Is that Mr. Lawson’s new assistant?”
Little Lamb: “I don’t know if you guys saw yesterday’s news. Apparently, Mr. Lawson Senior introduced his granddaughter to the public. Maybe that’s who she is!”
Heaven on Earth: “But I also saw many media outlets reporting that Mr. Lawson brought a woman with him to the birthday celebration. If it wasn’t his fiancée….. maybe it’s this woman.”
Lawson Lapdog: “Did you ever stop to consider that they’re the same person?”
There were countless group chats among the employees of Lawson Global. All of them were abuzz with discussion because of the photos of Angeline and Sean arriving together.
Lawson Go-Go-Go: “Breaking
news-Mr. Powell came to the
company some time ago to have someone renovate the vice
president’s office. Now, someone
from the tech team is in there to try

team is also ready. Looks like the
vice president is coming!”
Death By Excellence: “I bet ten hamburgers that it’s Mr. Lawson Senior’s granddaughter!”
Winston entered the building with a coffee in hand. When he saw the discussion in the group chat, he raised an eyebrow. Then, he took a screenshot of it and sent it to Helen. After that, he strode into the elevator.
Helen was seated opposite Ned. She glanced at the screenshot, then put her phone at a corner of the table. bet you had no idea Angeline gave birth to two kids after you two got divorced. Think about it She’s a schemer who drugged you so you’d sleep with her.
“Why do you think she’s hiding the kids from you? Maybe it’s so she can have them
fight with your and Ms. Dalton’s children for a piece of your inheritance.
“Also, consider this. Angeline’s your ex-wife. Judging from the kids’ age, they’re not illegitimate children, which means she should’ve conceived when she was still married to you. Mr. Fletcher, know how much you love Ms. Dalton. You wouldn’t want to cause such trouble for her, would you?”
