Chapter 405
“So, where are you, Mr. Green?”
“Oh, I’m at home at the moment,” Brayden said while touching the wound on the corner of his lips. “You called me to ask what happened to Shane yesterday, didn’t you, Angeline?
“If you don’t mind going through the trouble, you may take the elevator and come to my home. I’ll explain everything in detail to you. So, how about it? I’ll wait for you at the elevator.’
“Sure. See you in ten minutes.” Angeline hung up the phone and passed it to Lenny. “I’m going to get changed.”
Lenny was worried as he saw Angeline’s calm look, unsure if he should let Sean know.
“Don’t tell Sean,” Angeline said.
With his thoughts read by Angeline, Lenny awkwardly replied, “Okay, I understood.”
Lenny pressed the elevator button when he saw Angeline leave the house after changing.
As the elevator door opened, Brayden was waiting for Angeline outside the elevator.
With hands in the pocket, Brayden didn’t care if anyone saw the injuries on his face. He smiled and greeted, “Hello, Angeline!”
Lenny was stunned by Brayden’s injuries. No one had ever hurt Brayden from Lenny’s impression.
“What are you staring at?” Brayden glared at the surprised Lenny. “I can still beat the crap out of you even when I’m injured.”
Lenny replied awkwardly, “No, I wasn’t trying to offend you!”
“After you, Angeline!” Brayden smiled and showed Angeline to his house after rolling his eyes at Lenny. His fake smile was so wide that it tore the wound on the corner of his lips, causing him to wince a little.
The door to Brayden’s house was opened, and it was brightly lit inside.
The floor plan was the same as Angeline’s house, albeit with vastly different decoration styles.
Brayden’s house and furniture were monochrome, which didn’t match his loud personality.
Brayden didn’t close the door after Angeline and Lenny entered his house and didn’t make them feel pressured.
“What would you like to drink,
Angeline?” Brayden walked into his
bar counter and grabbed two
whiskey glasses, Although he asked: What Angeline wanted, he quickly poured two glasses of whiskey without waiting for her answer.
Brayden then took an ice bucket from the fridge and put a block of ice into the glasses before walking toward the couch and serving them to Angeline. “Angeline, you’re here to interrogate me, aren’t you?
Angeline looked at Brayden’s injuries and placed the glass on the corner table. “What happened yesterday?”
Brayden looked up at Lenny, who was behind Angeline, and ordered, “Go stand outside the door. There’s something you shouldn’t be listening to.”
Lenny stood still.
“What? Aren’t you listening to my order?” Brayden shouted.
“Please wait outside, Lenny. I’ll be okay,” Angeline said.
“Roger. I’ll leave the door open. Just call me if you need me,” Lenny said to Angeline respectfully. Before he left he tapped the phone in his pocket to signal Brayden that he would let Sean know.
“That ingrate!” Brayden gritted his teeth as he watched Lenny leave the room.
“Now, can you tell me what happened?” Angeline asked.
“You know that Shane Kingston is Sean’s real name. But do you know which Kingston family he is from?” Brayden asked.
“I know. Owner of Kingston Empire, who rose and once dominated half of Rippan and Keman’s capital,” Angeline replied.
“Aren’t you scared? Even after he told you this?” Brayden raised an eyebrow.
Sean wasn’t the one who told Angeline. Robert had told her when he was persuading her not to be with Sean.
“So, how did this have anything to do with you drugging him?” Angeline questioned.
