Chapter 399
Ned wondered if Angeline was faking it.
Because Ned had hurt Angeline, she used the same method as revenge.
If so, Ned would have to thank heaven. He would accept any kind of revenge from Angeline except for her not loving him anymore.
“So, I think you should talk to Angie, Mr. Fletcher. Perhaps there’s still hope for Fletcher Corporation,” Simon advised.
Ned shook his head without hesitation. He wiped off his tears of joy and said, “If Angeline will feel better from making Fletcher Corporation bankrupt, I’m okay with it! As long as it can ease her anger!”
Dumbfounded, Simon laughed. “Oh, Mr. Fletcher. I think you’re not suitable as a businessman!”
“Perhaps. Angie is always my top priority!” Ned replied.
Simon’s assistant came over and whispered to him. Simon nodded and said, “I have to go, Mr. Fletcher. I’ve known the truth about who saved my life. What we need to do next is try not to expose the truth during the contract period.
“As an insider, I hope you can keep this secret for these three years until the contract ends. For the sake of Norwalk Corporation and also Ingrid.”
“Don’t worry. I’ve been very sorry to Ingrid. Although I can’t give her the marriage she wanted, I’ll do my best to protect her as if she’s my younger sister,” Ned said with a smile.
After seeing Simon off, Ned laughed out loud like a fool and covered his face. As he kept laughing, tears of joy started flowing down his cheeks.
Ned realized Angeline was lying to him.
She wasn’t seeing anyone. She lied when she said she was living with the twin’s father.
Ned left the coffee shop after wiping his tears. He had decided to restart from the beginning if Fletcher Corporation was bankrupt.
After all, Angeline was the vice president of Lawson Global. He must do his best to match her status.
And, of course, Ned would want to give Angeline and her kids a stable, wonderful life.
Regardless of who their father was, they were born because of Ned’s stupidity back then. Since they were Angeline’s kids, they would be Neds too He would take care of them just like his own biological children.
…
While waiting for the elevator at Grand Court Residence, Angeline saw Brayden
coming back from outside.
“What a coincidence!” Brayden walked toward Angeline with his hands in his pockets while glancing at Lenny, who was dutifully standing by her side
Brayden smiled and said, “How about we have coffee in my place?”
Angeline entered the elevator when it arrived and scanned her thumbprint for the
floor number. She smiled and said, “I’m sorry. I have work to do.”
Brayden followed into the elevator and scanned his thumbprint, too.
Noticing that they were the only ones in the elevator, Brayden asked, “Aren’t you interested to know how Sean is leaving and where he is
staying? I can tell you! Lenny can follow, too.”
“I don’t know. I think you’re plotting something,” Angeline replied with a fake smile. “Haven’t you been trying to keep us apart?”
“Yeah! But that’s exactly why I’m telling you,” Brayden said. “Perhaps you’ll take the initiative to break up with Sean after I tell you.”
