Chapter 410
“The professor said I should go to the university if I’m willing to go out,” Xavier said. “I can meet many like-minded students there. Talking to them will not only broaden my thinking, but I may give constructive feedback to help the students.”
“But Mr. Lawson Senior is a little worried about letting me go.” Xavier pressed his lips.
“Do you want to go?” Angeline asked with a smile.
Xavier nodded. “I do, but Mr. Lawson Senior is worried that it isn’t safe. He’s afraid that he would lose me. So… forget it! I don’t want him to be worried!”
Angeline felt bad for Xavier’s thoughtfulness.
Robert had paid extra attention to the safety of the twins because of losing Jessica many years ago.
“If you want to go, maybe I can talk to Mr. Lawson Senior and figure out a plan?” Angeline said. “Just like how Yasmine gets to attend kindergarten. There’s always a way to work things out.”
“If Xavier wants to go to school, I can help him talk to Mr. Lawson Senior!” Yasmine said while hugging Xavier.
Angeline hung up the video call after chatting with the twins for a while. She felt better after the call.
The next day, Angeline entered her office and saw a huge bouquet of red roses on her desk.
Jamie quickly said, “The secretariat signed for the flowers this morning. They said someone gifted this to you.”
Everyone in the secretariat discussed who sent the flowers before Angeline arrived. No one dared to peek inside the folded card on the flowers.
Angeline placed her handbag on the desk and looked at the card. Her brows furrowed when she saw Ned’s name on the card before throwing it on the desk.
Angeline took her coat off and said to Jamie, “Take the flowers out. It’s taking too much space in here.”
“Should I put them somewhere else in some vases?” Jamie asked.
“Nope, just throw them away!” Angeline replied.
Jamie was stunned before grabbing the roses. “O-Okay!”
It wasn’t Ned who sent the flowers. If it had been Ned who sent the flowers, he would’ve known that Angeline’s favorite flower was the sunflower and that she disliked roses.
Sean took an overnight train back from out of town and came to the office after returning home for shower. As he exited the elevator, saw Jamie carrying the gigantic bouquet of roses out of Angeline’s office and stopped.
“Hello, Mr. Lawson. Wasn’t you on a business trip and returning tonight?” Sarah greeted.
“It wasn’t as troublesome as I thought, so I returned after handling it,” Sean replied. “Where are these flowers from?”
“Someone sent them to Ms. Lawson this morning, Mr. Lawson!” Jamie said while passing the bouquet to Sarah.
Jamie tidied his suit after passing the bouquet and said, “Ms. Lawson said it took too much space in the office. So she told me to take it out.”
Sean nodded and glanced at Angeline’s closed office door. He unbuttoned his coat and walked toward his office before telling Jamie, “Tell Ms. Lawson to come to my office.”
Jamie noticed something was off but quickly responded.
As Taylor wasn’t here, Jamie couldn’t tell it Sean was angry because the business trip the day before was unsuccessful or if
Angeline had offended Sean net
Feeling
uneasy, he walked toward Angeline’s office and entered the office before
smiling at Lenny, who was standing by the door.
