Chapter 397
Jamie looked toward where Angeline and Lenny were looking, then whispered, “Ms. Lawson, should I move back the next agenda on your schedule?”
“No, it’s okay.” Angeline took another look at Ned before entering the car and
leaving.
To be honest, Ned had no bad intention to follow Angeline, nor did he want to disturb her life.
He just wanted to get closer to Angeline, even a little bit.
After seeing Angeline’s car pass by before his eyes, Ned leaned back against his car in disappointment. He knew he couldn’t follow her again as her bodyguard would easily throw him off.
Before Ned left, he saw Simon coming out of the restaurant.
Although Simon’s phone rang non-stop, he only looked at the number without picking it up and continued talking to his assistant.
Ned thought about Ingrid and clenched his fist.
Ingrid had never failed Ned for the times they were together when he had lost his memory.
Given how destitute Ned had become, the least he could do currently was to bear responsibility for Ingrid as much as he could. He believed this could be a compensation for leaving her.
Ned walked toward Simon.
Simon noticed the tiresome Ned blocking his path without a word and smiled. “Hello, Mr. Fletcher. Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Norwalk. Do you have a moment? There’s something I need to tell you,” Ned said with a hoarse voice. “It won’t be long. Just give me ten minutes!”
Simon turned to look at his assistant, who nodded after looking at the schedule. He said, “Okay, let’s go to the coffee shop.”
In the coffee shop, Ned confessed that Ingrid had faked the truth about saving Simon’s life.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Norwalk. Ingrid has nothing to do with this,” Ned said “It’s because you’ve already signed the contract with her. And she only found out why you chose her as your ambassador after the interview.
“She wanted to tell you the truth, but Linda and I stopped her. I even went to Dmont and told Angie to keep silent about this. gave her money. and signed an NDA with her, but she refused the money and promised to keep this a secret. So I thought we’d be safe.”
Simon wasn’t surprised. But he remembered when they met in Dmont Angeline had mentioned that
she had been comatose for t
years and had lost some of her memory.
Simon remembered it was the first time he met Angeline when Ingrid signed the endorsement contract with Norwalk Corporation.
Hence, Simon wondered if Angeline knew she was Simon’s lifesaver but didn’t say it because of Ned.
Simon recalled Angeline always refused to talk about this. She wouldn’t have told it even during the meal with Danny if it wasn’t for the cooperation.
Angeline didn’t mention anything about saving Simon’s life, nor did Danny. But Simon knew after Danny said she was Ned’s ex-wife.
“I’m aware that Ingrid didn’t tell you. But did she tell you about a supplementary agreement?” Simon came back to his senses and asked Ned.
Ned was confused.
“Looks like she didn’t.” Simon smiled.
