Chapter 394
“How… How could you be so cruel?” Ingrid sobbed.
Ingrid had spent years in the entertainment world. She wouldn’t be this naive not to know how cruel reality could be.
Ingrid had always been a faux naïf. She was an expert in playing dumb and let her agent, Linda, deal with her mess.
She was used to using this method to achieve her goals.
However, one thing Angeline believed was that Ingrid truly loved Ned.
“Cruel? Then what should I do?” Angeline mocked and chuckled. “Repent and be desperate when Ned left me, then welcome him wholeheartedly when he wants to return? Should I give everything to him?
“Think, Ms. Dalton. I’m a human, but not someone else’s accessory.”
Ingrid looked up at Angeline in anger after listening to her chuckle. She bawled, “How could you laugh at this moment? You never loved Ned! If only Ned could spare me half or even a third of his love for you, I would die for him! As long as Ned could remember me!”
“You’re foolish to die for a man. What good will you bring to make a man regret your death? That’s merely a method of spiritual victory!” Angeline said. “You’ve lost your life for him, but that man? Yes, he’ll live the rest of his life in regret and thinking about you, but at the same time, he’ll achieve his dreams or get rich. Then with this regret and memory, he’ll get married and have all the wealth and fame.
“But you, on the other hand, have exchanged your life for his regret and recollection. Is it worth it? If I had the choice, I would rather be the man who lived in regret instead of being the woman who died for him.”
Ingrid remained stunned without any reaction.
“You should leave today. Maintain your title as the global ambassador of Norwalk Company properly. At least in these three years, don’t let
Simon effort go to waste,” Angeline said Jammie, please see Ms. Datton out.”
Judging by Ingrid’s current state, Angeline could tell Ingrid had given up.
Angeline had no intention of helping Ingrid. After all, Ingrid had not only allowed Tommy to do what he wanted back then, but she even helped him pick up the pieces.
Out of respect as a business partner
and for their contract’s sake,
Angeline had planned to deal with Ingrid after the collaboration with Norwalk Company was completed. But it seemed like she didnt even need to anymore.
Angeline hoped that Ingrid could hold on for a little longer and try to survive the three-year contract with Norwalk Company before falling.
Seeing Angeline had returned to her desk looking through the documents, Ingrid could only weep while leaving with Jamie.
Her mind kept thinking about what Angeline said.
“If you loved Ned, you wouldn’t care if Fletcher Corporation is no more. You should
grasp all your current resources and be Ned’s last resort and safe harbor.”
Tears kept flooding Ingrid’s eyes, even when she entered the elevator.
As if she had forgotten everything Angeline said after that, she thought, “Did Angeline take everything from Ned away because she wanted to become his last resort? So she could truly get Ned back?”
“Is she worried about me for leaving Ned? Or is she not content because Ned loved
me when he lost his memory?” Ingrid mumbled to herself.
After exiting Lawson Global’s building, Ingrid turned around and looked up at
Angeline’s office before clenching onto her purse and left in her car.
