“Isn’t discussion part of doing business? If you don’t think it’s fair for me to want half of the profits, Ms. Lara, we can discuss this further. It’s impossible to think that we can close a deal in just a single meeting.”

Angeline smiled as she lifted her teacup.

“I’m in no rush. You can take a look at the proposal first.”

Angeline may not be in a rush, but Lara was desperate.

Angeline was deliberately putting on a show. Since she already promised Monica that she would bring her into the fold through the project team, she had to keep that promise. Lara would definitely turn down Angeline’s proposal if this were mentioned to her.

If Angeline initially set the bar high for Lara but gradually lowered them, she could still achieve her goals.

“As far as I know, Ms. Lara, this project needs a substantial amount of capital. Rather than have Scott Incorporated work together with multiple smaller companies, why not join hands with us, Lawson Global, instead? Our income streams guarantee that you’ll have sufficient funding.”

After reviewing the proposal and mulling over Angeline’s words, Lara had a new thought. She could temporarily drop the topic and speak to her father about working together with Lawson Global. Once she received her father’s approval, Lara would then return to Angeline and discuss their plans to work together.

But of course, letting Angeline have half the profits was an impossible ask.

With the proposal still in hand, Lara got up.

“I’ll have to think about it. I’ll also need to discuss this internally with my team.”

Angeline stood up.

“Let me lead you to the elevator, Ms. Lara.”

Lara was smart. She informed her father of Angeline’s proposed capital injection and Lawson Global’s influence. She also further broke down the pros and cons of working with Lawson Global.

Lara only mentioned her interest in working out a deal with them. Naturally, she didn’t say that her hand was forced because of that piece of land she lost.
