Chapter 400
The elevator stopped at Brayden’s floor. He held the door open with one hand and showed the way to Angeline.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Green. I’m not interested to know. Sean can tell me if he wants to, but
I won’t ask too if he doesn’t. I trust him completely, just like how he trusts me.
“If you’ll excuse me, we shall meet again next time.”
Seeing how stubborn Angeline was, Brayden gritted his teeth in anger.
Lenny stood before Angeline to shield her and grabbed Brayden’s hand on the elevator door. “I’m sorry, Mr. Green.”
Brayden gave a cold stare at Lenny before putting down his hand. “Okay, fine. But I’m telling you that I feel bad for you because Sean refused to tell you his real identity and the consequences. Who knows what trouble you might be involved in because of him.”
“Thank you for nothing,” Angeline replied coldly.
As the elevator door closed, Brayden blocked it again with his hand. “Oh, yeah. Sean was injured, and it was a strange injury. Perhaps you can ask him how he would like to treat it. Only if he’s willing to tell you.”
Brayden put down his hand and left.
Angeline asked Lenny to go home after she had arrived home. While she was entering her house, Lenny said, “Don’t worry about Mr. Green. Although he speaks harshly, he’s quite nice. He’s not a two-faced man.”
“It’s okay, Lenny. I won’t talk to him frequently. Don’t worry about me,” Angeline replied.
While changing her shoes at the entrance, Angeline saw Sean’s shoes and knew he was home.
Angeline recalled Brayden mentioned Sean was hurt and felt worried about him. She knocked on Sean’s room, but no one answered.
“Sean?” Angeline called but got no answer. “I’m coming in.”
As Angeline opened the door, she heard the sound of water flowing coming from the bathroom. Sean’s clothes were scattered on the floor She felt relieved after checking there was no bloodstain on them.
Angeline left Sean’s room and saw the housekeeper had prepared dinner. She planned to wait for Sean to finish his shower and start working. But he hadn’t come out after more than 30 minutes.
Angeline felt something was off. She put down her laptop and entered Sean’s room again.
“Sean? Are you done with your shower?” Angeline knocked on the bathroom door, where the water continued flowing inside.
The water stopped. Angeline heard Sean walking inside.
Sean came out as the bathroom door opened. He was wearing a bathrobe with water dripping from his wet hair and covering his eyes. His body was cold, and it was the same in the bathroom.
Aggression and lust filled Sean’s narrow, deep-set eyes, which stared deep into Angeline’s eyes. His suppressed madness slowly seeped out of his cold, pale face as he started breathing quickly.
Angeline knew from her experience that Sean was drugged.
Angeline turned pale. She turned about to fetch clothes for Sean from
the cloakroom. “Hang on, Sean get you some clothes, we’re going
to the hospital. You’re going to get
sick from the cold shower!
But before she could enter the cloakroom, Sean grabbed her and kissed her with his freezing lips before she could react.
His slender fingers ran through her
long hair while cradling the back of her head. As they kissed, Sean stared at Angeline with cold yet frenzied eyes. He was unreasonably aggressive, forcing Angeline to stumble backward.
