I was furious.

The way Kaylee had played me was unmatched.

Graham had turned his eyes away from me because of her.

She had proven that I should never trust her, but it still hurt because she had chosen an Alpha over me.

At least Graham had someone who truly loved him.

Then Madeline arrived, and my heart swelled as though I had found something

precious again.

But for what?

She shouldn’t have been here.

I had something planned for her at the cabin.

After that, Madeline told everyone that Kaylee had killed Baxter.

However, I could tell that nobody really cared.

They didn’t care about Madeline or getting justice for her.

I acted shocked, even though Kaylee had already confessed a few hours earlier.

I was angry with Mathew for recording it, but then I realized he had only been helping me.

He had probably figured out that Kaylee was a bitch.

Whatever he did ended up saving me from a lot of embarrassment.

Earlier, Kaylee had acted like she had won when she rejected me.

I smirked at Kaylee and shook my head.

If only she hadn’t been so selfishly determined to frame me, she might have spared herself the humiliation, and maybe even the heartbreak.

At least she wouldn’t have sounded like a pathetic woman who admitted to sleeping with an Alpha just to secure a pack.

She dropped to her knees, crying, just like Silver had.

Then Madeline stepped forward.

She grabbed Kaylee by the hair and wrapped the strands around her fist.

“You can have the others and punish them. This one belongs to me,” Madeline said

as she yanked Kaylee to her feet by her hair.

Kaylee landed on her ass.

Fear was written all over her face as she began begging for mercy.

“No. Please don’t let me go with her. Please, she’s a monster,” Kaylee cried.

But no one looked impressed or sympathetic.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on Madeline.

Somewhere deep down, they all wanted to ask her if she would help their children.

But after the way she had arrived, I didn’t think she would help them or anyone else.

And I didn’t care.

I didn’t want to stop her here because if I did, I would have to arrest her.

Then everyone would become involved in her imprisonment.

Even the council members would keep an eye on her.

I didn’t want that.

I wanted to quietly take her away, lock her in my basement, and maybe even use

her tears to help others so they would stop looking for her.

“Please don’t let her take me away!” Kaylee screamed, humiliated in front of everyone.

Madeline snapped her neck, making her lose consciousness.

Of course, she didn’t kill her.

I could tell from the look in Madeline’s eyes that she had something much bigger

planned for her.

Once Kaylee hit the ground, a

strange-looking man emerged and lifted her onto his shoulder at a

I recognized the rogue princess.

Her name was Nala.

She had been traveling from pack pack, stirring up trouble and

Now everyone was watching Graham, and I had a very bad feeling about the smile

The words had barely left Graham’s mouth when the crowd gasped.

My head snapped toward Madeline.

I was stunned.

How could she do this?

She wasn’t ready to accept my apology, yet she was willing to accept someone who

had treated her so horrendously, who had raped and attacked her sister.

“No,” I muttered, searching Madeline’s eyes, hoping to remind her of everything this man had done to her.

But Madeline didn’t deny it.

She let Graham make the announcement without objection.
