“How can I calm down, Madeline? How could you do this?” I demanded, looking at her for answers.

She gestured with her hand before turning to Graham.

“Graham, go to my room, okay?” she told him.

My eyes widened even more.

Graham nodded, but the moment he took his first step, I jumped in front of him, blocking his path.

“Madeline, he’s not going into your room. Did you forget who he is?” I warned, fixing her with a hard stare.

My mind was racing.

First, how the hell had he ended up with her?

Was that why she had been sneaking out?

I was only now realizing she had been taking food with her.

Knowing Madeline, I knew she didn’t eat that much.

“I think you should tell him.”

The two of them spoke as if they had been best friends their entire lives.
