Chapter 704
Graham:
I had been wandering through the woods aimlessly.
I had no one left.
I was in such terrible shape that even after learning my father had died, I couldn’t bring myself to go and see him.
My steps were unsteady, but I knew that the moment I returned, I would be punished.
That was how I lost my father.
I started living alone in the woods. But I knew it was only a matter of time before someone found me.
That wasn’t what I was afraid of. I was afraid that the entire world would mock me.
So I began sneaking back into populated areas from time to time, hoping to hear
some news.
I only went to places where I knew no one would recognize me. I stayed close to the border.
That was when I found out Madeline was living in the cabin. And that she had finally settled there.
A couple of times, I spoke to Elgin over the phone. I also spoke to a few other people. I even called Madeline once.
That was when she told me my father was in critical condition. By the time we spoke, he was dying.
I still don’t know what happened that night, but by the next morning, news had spread everywhere.
People believed I had murdered someone. I had no idea where the accusation had come from.
During that time, I found out a warrant had been issued for my arrest.
And to be honest, I had nothing to do with it.
Why would I go to Madeline’s home, mistake someone else for her, and kill them?
Why would I do that? I would never kill Madeline.
Then one day, my luck finally changed.
I was in the woods near the cabin because I knew she lived somewhere around there. Soon enough, I spotted Madeline. She was picking fruit from a tree.
That’s when I decided to go after her. Not to confront her, but to take her. To keep her for myself.
I had lost everything because I loved her. So, in my mind, it was only right that I had her now.
The moment I stepped out from behind the tree, the apples spilled from her basket.
I watched her eyes widen.
“You!” she hissed, her jaw clenching.
But before she could do anything, I lunged at her. I grabbed both her wrists,
slammed her to the ground, and pinned her hands above her head.
There was only one thing on my mind.
I was going to mark her by force and make her mine.
Mate with her.
“Let go of me,” she hissed, her eyes showing no fear.
That was confusing.
The Madeline I knew would have started crying and trying to protest.
But this one looked fierce.
She stared right back at me, almost as if reminding me that if I did thing wrong, she wouldn’t hesit punish me
That confused me so much, but I kept going.
I reached for her neck, trying to force her hands away from it. I guess she
understood what I was trying to do.
“You fucking try it,” she hissed.
My body shuddered once again.
Then I watched her eyes begin to turn orange, then red.
Her body radiated so much power that she effortlessly broke free, rolled me onto my back, and climbed on top of me.
It all happened so effortlessly that I couldn’t even fight back.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t snap your neck right now,” she growled, pinning my hands to my sides.
I could feel her wolf coming out, and honestly, I had never been this scared in my life.
Her hands started digging into my skin, burning it.
“Ah!” I screamed.
“Shut the fuck up, you little bitch,” she hissed, growling as she glared at me, looking so threatening.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I was just—I missed you,” I mumbled, tears forming in my eyes.
Now that I knew I couldn’t fight her, the best thing to do was convince her how much I loved her.
me
My heart was pounding so hard when she almost immediately go, only to grab me by the hair and start dragging me toward a tree
I didn’t even know how she was able to do it, but I couldn’t fight her.
I couldn’t free myself from her grasp, even though both my hands were free.
I tried to scratch her skin, but it didn’t feel like human skin.
Even though she was fully in her human form, her skin had hardened as if she were
in her wolf form.
That was the power of a Grey Wolf.
The moment she threw me against
immediately dropped to
the clasped my hands
my knees
together, and threw myself at her
feet.
She stood above me like the warrior she was.
“I’m so, so, so sorry,” I began to cry. “I’ve made mistakes. Please forgive me.”
I cried again, sniffling as my body shook.
“Please, please don’t kill me. Please. I love you. I love you so much.”
I started professing my love to her, thinking it would stop her from killing me.
But the moment I felt her shoe press against my back, my heart skipped a beat. “You do?”
Her voice made my heart skip a beat.
