Chapter 782
Baxter:
“You sacrificed everything to lure the monster toward you so it would take you as well.”
My brows knitted together as I tried to make sense of his words.
“It brought you to the same cave where Gina was being kept.”
I remained silent, my mind racing.
“Gina was badly injured, and somehow the monster seemed to know there was a doctor who could heal her.”
My chest tightened.
“It brought Gina back to the human world.”
I stared ahead, trying to piece everything together.
“You were badly injured from its claws in the cave as well.”
I clenched my jaw.
“I don’t know what happened next because we fell into a coma.”
Of course he remembered.
My wolf was always the first to read my memories.
Even if he had been asleep, the moment he woke up, he would have read my mind first and blocked those memories.
“Where’s Mommy?”
Gina’s soft voice pulled me back to reality.
“Your mommy is fine,” I said.
I watched Gina immediately cup my face in her tiny hands, her little thumbs gently stroking my cheeks.
I was honestly amazed by my wolf.
How could someone receive so much love and still be so negative?
These two little girls wouldn’t stop touching me, as though they were silently saying,
‘Daddy, we’re scared. If we let go, you’ll disappear again.’
And then there was my wife.
Every part of her was special.
“Oh, please. Let’s not even talk about that cheater.”
The moment my wolf hissed those words, I growled at him.
Because I knew the truth now.
At least, what my daughter had told me was completely different from what my wolf had told me.
A child wouldn’t come up with such an elaborate lie.
A wolf would.
“Do you want to meet your sister?” I asked Gina and her eyes widened.
“Can I?” she asked in a soft, gentle voice.
I smiled and nodded.
“Come on. Let’s go meet Elara. Let’s surprise her.”
I took Gina’s hand before lifting her into my arms.
As I carried her out, she immediately began to squirm with excitement, letting out
little squeals as she bounced in my arms.
The moment I set her down beside the couch, I stepped back and pulled out my phone.
I had to capture this moment.
Elara still had her tiny fingers covering her eyes.
Gina stood beside the couch, right next to Elara’s feet, waiting patiently for her sister to see her.
Tears welled up in my eyes.
“Elara, you can open your eyes now,” I whispered.
I watched her slowly lower her hands.
Then she gasped, her little hands curling into fists.
She looked up at me.
Then she looked down at Gina.
“Ah!”
She screamed before covering both her ears with her hands.
Gina simply watched her, smiling as Elara bounced up and down with excitement.
“My sister is alive!” Elara squealed.
Honestly, it broke my heart.
They were such little children, yet they had already endured so much.
The more I thought about what someone had put them through, the angrier I became.
Whoever had done this to them was going to pay.
Elara had already told me that her mother had imprisoned her enemies.
Was that enough?
Was that really it?
Some humiliation and a prison sentence?
No.
That wasn’t enough.
Right now, though, I watched my little daughter climb off the couch and throw her arms around Gina.
The two of them began jumping up and down together.
I turned to the side and saw both Daniel and Livia tearing up as they watched the two girls.
Elara had gone through a whirlwind of emotions.
She had even asked Gina to pinch her so she could make sure all of this was real.
The funny thing was that Gina refused.
She shook her head and told Elara she wasn’t going to hurt her with her own hands.
“And you know, Mommy is here too.”
The moment Elara said that, Gina’s smile grew even wider.
“We all came here for you,” Elara continued.
Gina’s smile widened even more.
It felt as though a little girl had finally found the laughter she had lost.
“Where is Bodhi?” Gina asked.
Elara gently cupped her cheeks.
“Don’t worry about him. We’ll bring him back too, okay?”
The way Elara treated Gina, it was as though they weren’t the same age.
She acted like the older sister.
“And you know, Daddy is here too. We thought Daddy was dead too,” Elara added, pointing at me.
“What else happened?”
Like the curious little girl she was,
Gina immediately
started asking
Elara for every little detail.
They seemed like two aunts gossiping.
“They’re so adorable,” Livia murmured, pouting.
We were all watching the children.
My children.
Suddenly, I heard the door creak open.
All of our heads turned.
Madeline stepped out, wearing a shirt from my closet

She had probably worn it because she didn’t know where her clothes were.
She rubbed her eyes, as though trying to see more clearly.
Then I watched her eyes slowly widen.
I knew this was the moment a
