Chapter 824
Baxter:
“Please tell me. I just want to punish my wolf for lying so much,” I insisted, and genuinely, that was what I wanted to do.
I wasn’t a teenage boy for my wolf to so proudly exploit and lie to.
I was a father, a husband. I had duties.
My wife and my children deserved to know everything in great detail and with complete honesty.
“Okay, so how about you try to drift away from me? You try to act like you’re believing your wolf. I will go around and flirt with other men. Maybe Daniel.”
I had to stop her there, snapping my fingers at her.
“Wait, you said I would flirt with other women, and I can be in control of that. But what do you mean you’ll flirt with Daniel?”
As soon as I asked that question, I watched her narrow her eyes at me.
“I will have more control over myself while you have a wolf who is unpredictable. I don’t know what he would do when it comes to flirting,” she snapped, causing me to scratch the back of my neck as I realized she made more sense than I did.
“Anyway, let’s see how your wolf feels when you tell him that you want to have more mates if he’s not gonna accept me, and then you bring in Kaylee. I will start letting the truth about Kaylee come out so that your wolf feels agitated around her. At the same time, if you want, you can flirt with Nina if not Kaylee,” she said, folding her arms across her chest and rolling her eyes.
“Really?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, because I have to punish her anyway,” she mumbled.
I could tell this was the hardest part for her.
She didn’t want me to flirt with anyone but she had to make a choice and chose from the women that were already hated by her.
“I’ll pick Kaylee,” I said, watching her tilt her head. “She wanted to kill me, right, Madeline? She’s the reason I didn’t wake up in time and you went through so much. So how about that?”
I clicked my tongue and gently rubbed my thumb under her lower lip.
wolf
“I’ll make Kaylee believe that my has no memory and has told me that Kaylee was my lover. I will let her follow that lie. And from everything you’ve told me about her, she will definitely catch ontoit and try to stick with that story so that she can become the wife of another powerful man. And then we will watch her crumble.” I paused to watch Madeline nod.
“As for Nina, no, I don’t need to flirt with multiple women for my wolf to feel agitated.
I think he will be agitated enough when you start flirting with Daniel. But please, no hands, no touching.”
I set the rules almost immediately in one breath, watching her nod repeatedly before she zoned out for a moment.
Then she gently rubbed her temple, as if hinting that she was deep in thought. “What is it?” I inquired.
“Do you think there’s something going on between Daniel and Livia? I mean, I feel like my sister likes him, but he doesn’t like her. So if I start flirting with him, my sister would feel so bad, and I don’t want that.”
Almost immediately, Madeline had taken on the role of a sister to Livia.
It was such an adorable thing to watch, but I was here to burst her bubble.
“Well, the truth is that Daniel had a crush on her, and she rejected him in the most brutal way. Not only that she kind of mocked him called him weak and all that. I’ll fill your on all of it in a moment. But I think this will also help their relationship, I said, placing my hands on my waist and nodding with a smile on my lips.
“Okay, you’re scaring me,” Madeline commented, grabbing my collar and pulling me close.
She leaned forward and kissed my lips while I placed my hands on her back, gently and lovingly massaging it.
“When your sister sees Daniel flirting with you, she will start showing her true feelings too, because I do
believe that Livia has liked his attention all this time, and that’s what kept her from recognizing her feelings for him. So, let’s do it,” I said after breaking the kiss and gently running my fingers over her cheeks.
“In the meantime, we will have that meeting with the humans. They are coming over tomorrow,” Madeline reminded me, slowly wrapping her arms around me and resting her head on my shoulder.
“Yeah, we will have our son back, Madeline. Don’t worry,” I reassured her, gently patting her back.
It seemed like things were finally falling into place.
