Chapter 757
Sawyer:
A Few Days Ago:
It felt phenomenal to be back in power.
To have that kind of effect on someone that a mere look from me made them gulp.
Nina looked like she was about to die.
I bet she wished she were dead.
And why wouldn’t she?
She really thought she could play me, put me in a coma, and go on living her life as though nothing had happened.
That was where she fucked up.
The biggest problem was that, because of her, I had lost Madeline.
When I arrived from the werewolf world, I decided enough was enough.
It was getting ridiculous.
I needed my wife back.
I had planned to start a war if they didn’t let Madeline return.
After all, there were reports that she had a wolf.
They had tightened the security around her.
They claimed that because a murder had taken place and one of my guards had been accused of it, transport between the human and werewolf worlds had been suspended.
And do you know what that meant?
They were keeping the best researcher to themselves.
The war was right there.
But Nina, that fucking whore, ruined everything.
I couldn’t believe a woman like her had gotten me into so much trouble.
Well, that’s why, when you marry a good woman, you don’t go around ruining it by sleeping with whores.
“Sawyer, please hear me out. I didn’t hurt you or put you in a coma. I swear.”
Nina began to cry.
I released her from my chest, only to keep hold of her arms as I stared at her with my head tilted.
“Really? You didn’t?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
I watched her gulp.
Her body trembled under my grip.
“No, I didn’t. I promise you,” she insisted, looking me straight in the eyes.
“So tell me this. Why is everybody saying you’re my wife? I don’t remember marrying you. More importantly, I told you I would never marry you,” I growled, clenching my jaw as my eyes narrowed at her.
Once again, she tried to swallow, clearing her throat as though searching for an
excuse.
But only a soft whimper escaped her lips when my nails dug into her skin.
“Sawyer, that’s because I love you,” she whimpered. “You were leaving me, and I didn’t know what else to do.”
Now she was finally admitting it.
I mean, what did she think would happen?
Did she think she could lie to me and I would believe her?
When had I ever let anyone lie to me?
“Listen, my daughter made a
mistake. Please just let her be. Let her go. Her ultimate punishment will be having all her luxuries taken. away keep her with me she’ll
awayowed into your mansion
never be
again, or into your office, or anywhere near you.”
Her father finally stepped forward.
Mr. Bruno, the man I had trusted, the man who had worked for me, had the nerve to look me in the eye and act as though I didn’t know he had been part of whatever dirty plans She had concocted. ‘FindNovel.net
“No, I’m not going to leave her. Do you think that’s who I am? That wake up regain my power, and then just divorce my wife? Leave her at her father’s house, surrounded by all the luxury he stole from me?”
I spoke dramatically before a quiet chuckle escaped my lips.
I guessed they still believed I was only half-aware, convinced I actually felt sorry for them until that chuckle escaped.
“It’s okay. We’ll both leave everything behind,” he pleaded, quickly straightening his posture.
I shook my head again.
“No, I’m not going to divorce her,” I stated, my voice loud and clear.
“She is my wife,” I declared, noticing the confusion on both their faces as they
stared at me.
“She is going to stay with me forever,” I said with a smile.
“And since she wanted to be my wife so badly, I’ll show her what a kind and loving husband I am.”
As I spoke, I slowly ran my hand up her arm until I reached her cheek.
Then I grabbed her by the hair at the back of her head.
She winced in pain and turned to her father for help.
He seemed to panic.
He didn’t know whether to come toward me or back away.
“If you harm her, I’ll tell the entire world that you’re abusing your wife,” he warned,
finally dropping the act of having no idea how any of this had happened.
Not that his threat meant anything.
There wasn’t a fucking thing he could do to me.
“Really?” I asked.
“Did you ever wonder what happened to my wolf?” I whispered, watching their eyes
widen.
Nina’s eyes filled with tears as I continued shaking her head, her hair still tangled tightly in my fist.
“I used to wonder why I didn’t have a wolf. I’m such a powerful man. Turns out—” I murmured, looking up.
The looks on their faces alone told me they were seeing exactly what I wanted them to see.
My wolf.
Or, in other words, the monster my parents had suppressed for years.
In much simpler words,
My Lycan woke up with me.
