Chapter 665
Kaylee:
It’s been weeks since Graham ran away.
I was still staying in his mansion as his Luna, but I could tell my privileges were going to get revoked soon.
Although my father was fighting really hard to keep me as the Luna of the pack and trying to convince everyone that I had no hand in whatever Graham had done, I knew that sooner or later they would appoint a new Alpha for the pack, and I would have to step down.
But I was not ready to lose everything.
So much had happened during that time.
Madeline turned out to be a monster, but were we shocked? No.
And then our children were taken away. Thankfully, they should not be staying with a
monster.
“Come on, it’s great news,” my father said as he handed me a glass of wine.
“Silver getting exposed is going to do nothing for me,” I said tiredly. “I mean, why do
I even care what is going on between her and Elgin?”
I sighed heavily.
“You don’t get it, do you?” my father muttered.
“Elgin has already taken Elara from Madeline. He doesn’t need any more daughters, but he does need a Luna who can take care of him. And what better way to secure your place than to tempt an Alpha with a pack and a little intimacy?”
My father chuckled.
I still didn’t understand what he was trying to say.
“Speak with Elgin. Tell him you want to marry him. In return, he can take over the pack.”
My father’s words instantly made me shake my head.
“No. I’m still mated to Graham. And why would I marry Elgin?” I grunted as I got up from my chair.
“Do you not remember what Graham did to you? He was cheating on you. He made
you afraid. Sooner or later, he was going to reject you anyway. He never loved you.
If
f you couldn’t secure his love, then at least secure his status. Secure a pack.”
My father continued trying to convince me.
“And right now is the best moment. Elgin is broken beyond repair,” my father mumbled.
To be honest, I didn’t like the idea.
I had no desire to marry Elgin.
It wasn’t as though he was a good person.
After the way he had treated Madeline, I was convinced that Elgin was the one influencing Graham as well.
But then again, my father was right.
Sooner or later, I would be kicked out of this mansion, and then I would be out on the streets.
I just didn’t think I could continue living without luxuries now that I had gotten a taste of them.
I turned to my father and, very reluctantly, gave him a nod.
“Fine. I’ll speak with Elgin, but don’t expect anything. These Alphas, they all roam
around, and I can’t even conceive anymore.”
My voice broke as I mentioned that part.
The biggest regret of my life was making that stupid stupid awfully
6d decision to drag Baxters
body to the mountain top
Why the fuck did I do that?
He had nothing to do with me. I had nothing to do with him.
If I had just left him there, he would have woken up and controlled Mac anyway.
Everything would have been different.
But no.
I had to make that stupid mistake and lose the baby and lose Graham in the process.
My lips pressed together tightly, especially because I knew it was all my fault.
Well, as much as I wanted to blame Madeline, deep down, I knew I was the one who had caused my own downfall.
“Then let’s get ready now,” my father said. “He’s broken anyway, and he must be furious with Silver. If we go
there right now and speak with him, he might even accept you out of spite.”
My father continued talking as he got up and walked toward the staircase after finishing his statement.
I had no clue what he was planning until he came back with a very sultry white dress with a deep-cut neckline.
“Wear this Get ready in the most beautiful way but don’t try to look too bold Rather look delicate. Go get ready. I’ll be waiting for you in the car.”
My father handed me the dress, and I stared at it for a while.
I had bought this to wear on a date with Graham after giving birth.
Sadly, that never happened.
It seemed as if I had finally hit the nail on the head.
If I had never dragged Baxter’s body, none of this would have happened.
My children would still be here.
I would not have become jealous.
I would not have pushed Penny to throw away her children.
My father would not have pushed and hit Eldon.
Everything would have been different.
If that man had been alive, everything would have been fine today.
He would have kept Graham under control.
I sighed before getting dressed for the day.
